You may look into the ATG list and find how many fighters from the current
era (say who were fighting in the last decade) is over there ....

This is the worst era in boxing.

    135 is mediocre
    140 is weak
    147 is mediocre
    154 is weak
    160 is mediocre
    200 is weak

    etc...

As far as the heavyweights go, there are less participants than years past. More atheletes are going into other sports. When you look at the last olympics trials here in the states there weren't many contenders at all compared to the competitive fields of the 60's, 70's and 80's.Of course now we have the Eastern Europeans, but they seem to lack the motivation of an Ali or Frazier, or even a Chuvalo, Quarry or Bonevena. Guys like Chagaev will only try so hard to win, when things get rough they concentrate on not getting hurt. There are no more brutal fights like Ali-Frazier I or the thrilla in Manilla. No Foreman- Lyles, or Holmes -Nortons.Most of todays heavyweight fights are more like sparring sessions, that are stopped before somebody gets hurt.It is pure fantasy to think that Wlad would be so dominate against somebody willing to take a chance, like he was against the plodding, unimaginative Chagaev.Guys that are beltholders now would be hard pressed to be contenders in the 60's or 70's.The contenders of today would be bottom feeding clubfighters, used as fodder for the top guys.

The only thing that is better is that Panama Lewis still can't be a trainer in the ring.

I personally think that fight like

    Pac vs Marguez I, II

Israel vs R Marquez I, II, III

give our current era some prestige very close competitive title fights are what defines boxing not lopsided fights.

    STFU.

Look at the top 10 HW today, then kindly STFU.

PERFECT! Miguell Cotto, he is one of todays GREATS. Imagine a prime Mosley vs Cotto...Hahahahaha...Mosley by ****. Imagine a prime Trinidad vs Cotto...Tito by ****! Imagine a 147 Duran vs Cotto...The humanity!!

The WW from the 90's, 80's, 70's and 60's would all murder Cotto. Cotto tires by round 9, his chin is below average, and Cotto has never beat nor dominated anyone great with the exception of an old fighter past his prime.

If Cotto is what this era's greats are measured up against then I stand by my statement that this era of boxing is not like When SRR, LaMotta and Fullmer fought, or like when Hearns, Hagler, Duran and Leonard fought, or like when ODLH, Trinidad, Mosley, Whitaker, Cahvez and even Vargas is better than Cotto.

I LOVE BOXING! I've been watching boxing all my life and following it closely since I was 14, I'm 29 now.

That's why I know this era is weak comapred to the previous. ;)
