You do know it's a 10 count not a 10 second count right? There's a reason why they have a guy counting and not a stopclock that starts a timer the moment they hit the canvas.

If you want to call Fury a cheat it should be for his failed drugs test but as a Canelo fan you're in a bit of a glass house there so you won't.

Obviously Jones has more good wins than that. Those are stand outs because they are top echelon elite i.e ATG talents themselves. Griffin, R.Johnson, Ruiz at HW, Tarver. Jones has a career. Tyson Fury has basically nothing outside of Wilder, Wladimir.

This is a hilarious hypothetical situation to propose.

Doesn't matter ether way because Fury beat both the ref's ten count and the ten second count on the clock.

It's a bugbear of mine that a lot of boxing fans don't seem to know what's a pretty simple rule. Joe Rogan kept getting it wrong on his show which I found super annoying.

Yes it is. Just discussing why RJJ is considered an ATG with only 2 elite wins.

Beating elite fighters is the gold standard. Anyone can look good wiping down fighters that are a level or two below themself. Chances are when 2 elites fight, it will be a close fight where neither looks superb.

But ya Fury is a fighter that fights to his opponents level. But its his fault he has fought a bunch of cans.

Boxing’s a numbers game even if knockouts are better this would only be the case if two fighters fought the same guy but ,the more top wins you have the better legacy you have .

People who refer to Wilder are not taking into account he has no actual top proven win unless someone he’s defeated has a legacy themselves really or legit career . Currently AJ is top dog if you go by this he has the most title defenses with credible opponents. Many forget when you fight top quality guys going undefeated doesn’t come so easy ,imagine if AJ said he wanted a easy touch to rest his hand or no title defenses ? This applies to both Fury and Wilder .

Wilder wasn’t the man AJ was ,Fury needs to defeat him to really show he’s the true main guy of his generation . A win is a win but what good is it if it looks terrible when it goes down in history you didn’t really defeat anyone special or proven ? Fury can get away with this if and onlay if he were to add AJ to his win column because that basically would be the second dominating fighter he would have defeated.

    Would you rather

beat the man, then beat the other man technically twice, then beat the other man to become THEE man and hold every major belt in heavyweight boxing and retire undefeated.

or reign for 10 years against generally overmatched opposition, never fully unify all belts, lose 5 times on the way.

    I choose the former.

    Fury is so underrated.

Mike Tyson is regarded as a great, but who did he beat?
