The chance that your opponent was given before you beat him or the position where he was ranked and who he beat before you face him.
Lets say fighter a fights b, b is a good fighter and given 40% chance and loses but was a threat during the fight.
    OR
Fighter c fights d, d is given 10/20% chance against fighter c but has some nice wins and has a good rating in the division(better then fighter b in the other fight).

Who deserves more credit fighter A or C?

It depends. If you're talking "what will increase your ATG status most" then I'd say the odds matter more. Because the odds are a reflexion of how good you are, and if you upset odds, then it usually means you're alot better than people thought, so your ATG status improves.

but what if you are so good that the odss wil almost always be in your favor? do you need to seek risk to prove your greatness or will your skills display your rating when your carreer is finished?
