Im not the most fanatic floyd follower or fan for that matter and he has not faced the best welters but I think when all is said and done, his skills will be remembered by those who truly appreciate the art of boxing. Im not going to filter my negativity into this thread but shed light on what he has and that is supreme boxing ability and boxing intelligence, he is like the shaolin monk of boxing. However his lack of top welters on his record do nothing for his legacy, his legacy would look much better with the likes of Cotto, Mosley, Margarito and a few others to boot on his resume.

    Ndou was at 135...anyway

You act like Floyd predicted the future. He knew Cotto was going to be a quiter and he knew old Mosley was going to expose Margo.

Floyd wanted a title at 140. And the best AVAILABLE at 140 was Gattis 140 WBC title.

Instead of just allowing Mayweather to fight for the title the WBC demanded Mayweather fight eliminators. (Brussles was horrible, but Corley was) Both of those were eliminators. Gatti wanted to fight Floyd right away but Floyd wanted the title to have something at that weight.

Harris showed how good he was on the night Floyd fought Gatti.

Cotto was considered too green by all and not at his best weight and Arum would never allow it.

Zoo fought for Showtime then lost to Hatton and Hattons team claimed they were ready for Mayweather.

Leaving 140, dead nearly for Mayweather. So Mayweather moves up. Sets a fight against Judah who had not lost to Baldomir yet. Then Judah loses to Baldomir. People still wanted Floyd to fight Judah (note the good PPV numbers) and is still considered a good win by many, most claimed Judah was unfocused for the Baldomir fight, why would he not focus for Mayweather his payday?

Mayweather wants the main title at at 147 and beating the MAN at 147. And fights Baldomir. Winning his 3rd Lineal Title.

He then moves up for the mega showdown with DLH that everyone and their mom wanted to see, also to fight the number 1 154lber. And beats him.

Then goes down to 147 to fight Hatton who is considered blown up yet weighed the same as when he fights at 140. (154 on fight night not the 160 he weighed against Collazo) and beats him.

In a stretch of 3 fights. He beat the top guy at 140,147,154. (Blah blah he beat hatton at 147, Hatton wouldn't of weighed any different)

While Margo held on to his WBogus title beating Golden Johnsons and Cotto saying I only fight who my promoter puts in front of me.

Mosley I need my tooth fixed.

I love the fact that everyone is calling for PBF-Shane but as soon as PBF gives Shane a boxing lesson. They'll be quick to discredit the win saying he was 37 and shot just like they did for Oscar.:deal If I was PBF I wouldn't take the fight why bother he won't get any credit if he wins.:-(

Not really becuase I think most wanted to see this fight years ago, and honestly I still think its a good fight now, I think Mosley will be the toughest fight for Floyd to date and I dont think many can argue with that.

I took it up at a late age of 24. Trainers told me I had potential and wished I had started much younger. True story; John Ruiz step father was at my house when I was a wild teen. I asked my step father if Junior could train me and he said no. Due to thinking I would then turn into a bully. Wrong answer. I have yet to get into another fight in the streets since I learned how to box. Not everybody adheres to the discipline, but the majority of boxers are cool down to earth people. I am weight training now and will start to run next month. I then plan to get back into some type of boxing shape and will start training others. I am 43 years young and want to feeling and looking young. If ever saw me, you would never think I was 43. I look more like in my late twenties. Well, what I am saying is that I missed the bus back when I was a teen. 24 was late, marriage, house, kids= missed the bus. Great sport.

It doesn't matter PBF has no obligation to fight at 147 he's not a true WW and he did what he set out to do win the linear championship there and fight Zab. He always said he never planned to stay at 147 forever and clean out the division:deal. IF you come in on fight night for a WW fight at 148 then you're not a real WW.:deal Most 140 pound fighters weigh 150+ on fight night. PBF should be at 140 IMO.

I disagree. PBF would make Shane look very old. Shane looks good against guys that stand in front of you and are there to be hit like Margo. Hell even Mayorga who boxed more tha expected gave him all he could handle and Cotto outboxed him as well. PBF would do the same but more to Mosley who wouldn't have an answer for PBF's movement, defense, handspeed and ring generalship.

If you're going to call Margarito a welterweight and support his title reign there then you have no leg to stand on when you call Williams too big for welterweight. Margarito's success was due to the fact that he was the biggest welterweight ever. The minute some one his size fought there, he lost to him.

Thats the pot calling the kettle black.
