I got a bunch of his earliest fights on DVD and imma have a look over the next week or so...what do you guys think are his major weaknesses? What concerns you and what would you like to see get ironed out? How much of the way he fights now do you think belongs in the am's rather than the pro ranks?

    Cheers.

The hype he will get when he moves into the big ranks.

Naw, I like that kind of thing man. I like to see strengths develop and weaknesses emerge and try to pinpoint how and why both came about.

    From a technical perspective.

The stand up style, and the stoppage defeats as an amateur.

Difficult to pick out his flaws yet. He's brushed his opponents a side with ease. We don't know how he'll handle someone who brings pressure, or how he'll react when caught flush yet. I know Price has been down on numerous occasions in the AMs, but he's yet to be in any real trouble in the pros!

I need to see more of Price before making judgement. He might get a bit shaky with someone who brings up the intensity and clobbers him a couple of times...

Technically i still think he could be using his jab better - although against Sexton it was the best I've ever seen from him. I think that fury uses it better, he really wallops you with it and sets his feet. I wish he would liven up more aswell... he seems too relaxed.

But I'm still very impressed by him. I can genuinely see him beating Vitali in the future - if he is still around.

big lump, not agile enough to get out of the way at points. and usual response is to pull back or his clinch leaves alot of elbow room.

leans in and leaves his chin just infront of his left shoulder.

doesnt throw a right cross perfectly. more of an overhand right hook.

jabs but doesnt use his full reach for a guy for his hieght and width.

defensively alrigth but doesnt look comfortable when he gets charged at.

left leg is rooted to the floor. and seems to drag his right foot behind him at points.

to be honest though, i could be talking about vitali.

His main issue is his defence for me. He keeps his hands quite low and if he fights an opponent that can get past his size I think he will have real problems.

Have a look out for a defensive mechanism he has where he lifts up his shoulders and scrunches his head down into his neck. It has the effect of a kind of shoulder roll against smaller opponents but will be practically useless against a fighter his own size.

Like a lot of tall fighters he doesn't move that well with fairly rigid feet. I don't see a lot of fluidity in his movement and he will be a fairly static target with a limited defence against a fighter who can deal his height and reach.

He does have the intangible though..........devastating power.

When he knocks a fighter down for a count of 10 they don't usually recover for several minutes.

There is still a question over his chin , and there will be until he takes a good clean well timed shot and shakes it off

Technically he's improved very quickly over the last 12 months , he is no longer flicking any of his shots (something he done as an ama) particularly his jab , his jab in the ama's was sometimes a bit flicky and a scoring shot , he jabs now with poise and balance and gets a lot behind it , he's looking to put together combinations off his jab which again makes him a real handful , specially when his jab is hammering home like it is these days

Can he fight on the inside ?? , he flattened Sexton with a lovely little inside short left hook so clearly he's working on it , but how often will he be in the pocket rolling shots looking to fight inside ?? very rarely

With Pricey id say he is now entering the phase of being a top pro , having converted from a top ama , technically its clear the guy is very very capable , he doesn't actually do a lot wrong , its more of a mind set change and the subtle differences in fighting to cause damage , as oppose to fighting to outpoint and score points

His right uppercut takes me back to the Lennox days , its very destructive , in summary i have to say his chin and his engine are the only real concerns at this stage , there are many questions , but they are questions not concerns ................

What does he lean in with , he slightly steps into his jab but to me he doesn't seem to lean in with anything
