Defensive ring movement if you're taller. Don't engage...Move and shoot the jab and occasional rear hand. I'd say using defensive ring movement would be an interesting compliment to that approach. Garcia's got better than average movement when he elects to use it; and I could see a guy who circles quickly frustrating Loma (and the fans, perhaps) and eventually creating openings when Loma tries to rush in to close distance. I think Mikey could make that strategy work...and it's why I think that, even now, a tall rangy speedster like Devin Haney could give Loma some difficulty if they were to meet. Kid doesn't always set down on his punches, but he can place them pretty well and I think keep Loma guessing for a little while, at any rate.
The only thing that can defeat Lomachenko is an injury, even then he got by and knocked Linares out, Oscar was so angry, Oscar's judges were to cheat Lomachenko, but instead, Lomachenko took it out of Oscar's judges hands, got a knockout to the liver, nothing Oscar could do except buy himself an new set of fishnets!
I don't think presently there is anyone his own size in danger of beating him to be honest. But the Salido way is the only known way. Intense pressure and body work. Though saying that, I think Loma has visibly improved since then so I'm not sure how workable that strategy will be going forward
Exactly, to beat Lomachenko ideally you want a high volume swarming fighter like Orlando Salido. Don't let Lomachenko use his best tools.
No idea. Perfectly legal in MMA and while they are damagin I can't see them as being any worse than an overhand right to the temple or a Lewis uppercut. Maybe because to throw a spinning backfist you have to turn your back on the opponent?
It's a historic thing, basically backhand shots increase the chances of a cut dramatically (especially bareknuckled or with less padding) and thus they were banned in the Queensbury rules.
