Only in america. Briggs is fighting like ****. He did had more action at the weigh in. The american heavyweight fighters have vanished.
If Vitali would've hit him, he would've been able to sue him, and have him arrested at the weighin. Security would have stepped in to save Shannon. Security aint coming into the ring, so it's a lost cause for him.
Can't argue with his chin, and it certainly isn't much fun taking a prolonged beating. However one of the easiest things to do in a boxing ring when things get difficult is to not throw any punches and simply wear them. It takes real heart to pull the trigger and have a crack when you are getting a hammering. I don't like the idea that someone who has the genetics of good punch resistance gets respect for playing the part of a human punching bag and not even trying, and some guy who has horrible punch resistance will get absolutely pigeon-holed and mocked if they get knocked out trying.
Briggs made the fight. Otherwise Vitali would have just stood back and jabbed all night. Early on I thought Briggs had a chance using his left and banging to the body, but he ran into too many right hands. It got monotonous watching him duck into them, though once, he accidentally blocked one with his own right glove. I would fire those two dudes he picked from the audience to work his corner. rr
I agree! He just walked right into them rights all night!! He should have just rushed Vitali and bombed away!! Hell I am starting to think Holyfield has a better shot at beating the Klit boys!! LMAO!!
Vitali likes to punish his opponents, his record alone is proof of that, regardless of how Briggs fought Vitali would have attempted to pummel him with chopping right hands. Briggs definitely encouraged it though by standing in front of him with his hands down for 12 rounds not moving or throwing punches. The guy carrying on in the corner was hilarious, though it was disturbing realising that the guy yelling "punch him in the mouth champ" at the weigh-in was actually a member of his team.
