Come on, he was ****. He only just shaded the Gammer fight, only took control of the Baker fight after Baker gassed, and went down like a sack of **** after one punch by a heavy who ain't the hardest hitting guy in the world. In all his fights his legs stiffened after every single shot. IMO the best looking prospect tonight was Baker. Showed a good chin, good heart, a nice punch and some very good movement. If he could shed 3 stone and get in shape he'd be a top domestic prospect. And he looks like a fat David Haye.
Lads Audley is the same Audley, not world class. As for Barrett, although I was shouting for him, and he took some good shots for a lighter guy, needs to drop down a division, he is a cruiser at most.
Dedication mate i think. the lads a good boxer. But has a travellers mentality.tonight he was in it for the money.
He's ****, nobody in that tournament looked at all good enough to even beat Audley, that says something.
calling him shiit is a bit harsh to be fair. He was mixing it in there with men 3-5 stone heavier than him. He showed some quick hands, good head movement and footwork and was beating Audley on my card when he got stopped. Granted he is more suited to the cruiserweight division but I wonder if he has the dedication and dicipline to keep his weight below that limited - especially if he is living "a traveller lifestyle"
Yes, congratulations to Coleman Barrett for fighting THE GOOD FIGHT... for 3 round bouts, and going down quite embarassingly from a straight by Audley. At best he'll get onto the domestic scene, but Audley is only the scrape of that, he'd get marmalised against Williams, and would have a tough time with people like Fury, McDermott, Skelton, Rogan and the like.
I think the point that most people are trying to make GAV is that he could be a usefull domestic CRUISERWEIGHT.
Well admittedly I don't know much about the British Cruiserweight department so I can't throw out an opinion there. Though I'm unsure if he'd get past Enzo provided he had his head screwed on. Saying that, he is a little too green as it stands, but I still didn't see anything impressive from him to see much of a future.
The domestic CW scene is pretty weak so Barrett has every chance of picking up a belt. Could have some good fights with Dolan and Norton.
I'd say with the loser, more-so. Don't see him coming through against the winner, though to be honest, i don't see him coming through against the one who loses either. He needs a few more tune up fights.
Dolan at Cruiser then if he wins that Norton. He's more than capable of competing if he can maintain strict training. He's a D level Calzaghe :good
