Price should hire a new trainer and conditioning coach. Price fought Thompson too soon, he was not ready. Wilder refused to fight Thompson, but Wilder sticks to fighting winos from the Alley. If Price did what Wilder is doing he would still be undefeated.....................

You're right in all respects,I think.I seriously underrated Thompson. But Im nothing to do with David Prices career. He was beaten handily by Wladimir, and thats the only time I saw him before coming to the UK.Whats the betting Daves handlers saw no more, looked at his age and thought ready for the taking? It was a massive step up in retrospect.
Wilder,on the other hand,is ,I think 2 years younger. The Harrison fight could be a springboard to tougher fights. Its usually the American fighters who get stepped up quickly.Of the two,Wilder will probably go the farthest now, though probably not by much.Hes not thought of very highly in the UK,but has been underrated,I think.Prices conditioning let him down,as you hinted.Hope he can do something about it.

I would like to see him fight Martin Rogan for a comeback fight. Better fight than Audley.

I really don't think there's much he can do to improve now. He doesn't use the jab at all, just paws it up above his head, and if having someone like Lewis in your camp hasn't changed that then I don't know what will. He doesn't throw his hooks properly either and still drops his hands when he throws them. Overall price just looks awkward in there, he's not a natural boxer. That being said I think he's done well to achieve what he has and will have a good career at euro or domestic level an will probably still get a few world title shots due to his style and power.

I like the idea of him fighting abroad on an undercard - It was clear he was phased by the build up to a big home show. It was such unnecessary pressure for someone coming off a KO loss.

Price looked horribly tense in there - even when he had Thompson in trouble it looked forced. If he did lack sparring in the lead up, that would have contributed massively to that. I don't care how fit you are, nervous energy burns you out like nothing else. I've brought a few mates down to boxing who are very decent level cyclists, so stamina is not an issue for them and they were on the floor after their first 2 rounds of sparring. If you tense up and waste energy, you're in serious trouble.

They said the exact same thing about Wladamir - rewatch the Brewster fight, it's so errily similar to the Price fight. I'm not saying Price can emulate Wladamir, but he clearly needs a new trainer. Wladamir was only, I think 2 or so years younger than Price is when he changed trainers to Emmanuel.

i imagine he will want to fight someone good again to prove himself but that might not be wise. if the same Chisroa shows up to his next fight that showed up to his last then he will lose. so Price Chisora British title with the bulid up been all about the last chance is my guess

I wouldnt say hes got no heart, but hes a british level fighter could maybe rebuild and win the european but i dont know whos holding that?
I can see him fighting a few Eurobums before being ko'ed for a third time, its a shame this has happened as he was managed awfully, i bet Fury wishes he never ducked him now! Or maybe he really did see that Price was levels below him, which has turned out to be correct

I think they will put him back in with a real low level opponent just to get his confidence back it must be in tatters.

Hindsight is a marvellous thing but I bet there are regrets both sides of Price & Fury's camps as that fight at the start of this year would have made both men some serious money.

    100% agree with you TT.

But even though he made decent money against Thompson twice combine those purses he earned & he would of made more in one fight with Fury if it makes money it makes sense.:thumbsup

I bet they wish they'd have gone with Kevin Johnson when Fury did. He'd have given Pricey the rounds he desperately needs, but without the same knock-out risk.
