What next for Dereck Chisora? He was totally out of shape v Fury. I'd like to see him fight David Price or Robert Helenius rematch.
He was in fine shape, no worse than when he fought Vitali. He's now had a lot of losses when he has stepped up. While I don't think he's at that gate keeper level yet like Johnson or Thompson because he's still young, fit and motivated. But he isn't a contender, it's clear now he isn't good enough even when in shape to beat the best in the division. He's a dangerman now, good enough to cause an upset if you overlook him but not good enough to challenge for a title. He won't retire, he has to make a living and we'll see him fight again but he's now just an opponent. I expect to see him matched with Joshua at some point down the line, he would be a good test.
Way to kill your own thread in the very second line . You clearly didn't even watch the fight. He was in one of the best shapes of his career.
should win a few fights against lower tier opposition and get a bit of momentum, look for a cash out fight vs AJ.
Helenius rematch would be great. It is kind of what he has left. He has removed himself entirely as a legit contender, but he does have a win-loss against Helenius that he could parlay into a another big match. If he beat Helenius (and he probably could) then he is right back in the thick of things.
He's C level, he can become a journeyman or drop down to CW and get KOed by one of the Eastern Europeans.
He looked in good shape to me for the Fury rematch. I think once he gets a couple of wins under his belt he should stick to euro level, and become a bit of a gatekeeper for the likes of Joshua and other prospects that come through
He will continue to give upcoming fighters and others decent "step up" challenges, but that's where it ends. However, if Wladimir retires, don't be surprised to see him win a free belt. The bum frenzy that will take over the division after Wladimir will be the worst ever in history.
