Yeah then in his mid-40s he will be broke enough that he actually has to go through with the fight and it will be sad.

If he gets KO'd I think he retires, or has one last fight against a B opponent to end on a win. I doubt he wants to risk getting KO'd by AJ too.
He might mentally handle getting beat by one guy, Usyk, who he has respect for. But getting beat by AJ, who is already considered exposed, would be very hard to handle.

Fury isn't quite as delusional as he seems. He knew Wilder was very dangerous and didn't want that third fight, and rightly so. He's also aware of the brain damage, as it was one reason he fought defensively for years. If he gets KO'd by Usyk, he'll probably figure his punch resistance is gone and won't want to risk getting KO'd in a depleted state.

But he's also unstable and greedy so you never know.

It’s not impossible for Fury to win the rematch against Usyk.

This. I'm cheering for Usyk too and think he will win, but Fury had some good periods in their first fight where he looked that he might be on course to win. Usyk himself commented on how big and strong Fury is, like fighting a yeti. It's not a given that Usyk wins.

I can see what you’re trying to sell here, but it’s a weak concept. You’re a Fury fan, so presenting the situation as though both Usyk and Fury were at the very end of their careers when they fought would leave you some wiggle room to argue the “what if” route later on. This would mean, for example, that if they had fought earlier, Fury in his prime would surely have beaten the middleweight, and so on.

However, not only does Usyk not want to retire yet, according to multiple sources, but he would have always had Fury’s number. If a slowed-down, declined, late-thirties version of Usyk did that to Fury, it’s probably best for Fury fans not to imagine what he would have done back in his late twenties, when he beat Wlad in sparring and dominated giants at the WSB with ease.

Rubbish i'm not a petty peanut and I'm actually a fan of both.

Not once have I put Fury and Usyk in a hypothetical such as prime for prime which in itself is ridiculously subjective and a worthless scenario to think about. Usyks physical prime was probably at cruiserweight. Furys physical prime was a tiny window in 2020. I think Fury edges the rematch or loses close again it's always a close fight.

Both are regressed only a fool would deny this. Usyks consistent discipline was his key to beating Fury which overcame all of Furys physical and sexual advantages.

Usyks could KO Fury in 1 round or vice versa in the rematch and it doesn't change or take away what either of them have achieved and regardless of the outcome I expect them both to retire unless money is really such a motivation for them still to get punched in the head risking brain damage with a young family full of kids.

Y'all acting like Fury can't win the rematch. He won't be a favorite, and will probably lose, which is fine with me as I'm rooting for Usyk, but saying he doesn't have a chance is wishful thinking.

Floyd won one fight he shouldn't against castillo in 50 fights

Are you really going to question if Oscar and maidana beat him? Lol
If that's the case then Breidis and Fury beat Usyk, as they were easily as competitive

Yes it was the best cruiser era ever, as cruiser is a mickey mouse division that hasn't got a lot of history and realtively new. Michael apinks etc went from LHW to HW, there is no great prestige at CW. It's a bum division, it's why I score usyk way behind other greats. When I mention Evander as great, I don't mention the run at CW

That fact that Haye and Nelson are high up the CW lists Says it all lol

Floyd and Manny had more title fights against better opponents than Usyk has had fights. He has fought a load of bums

List me usyks greatest 15 professional wins and I will do the same for Manby and Floyd and we can compare their opponents accomplishments

Floyd and manny s..t all over usyk, who is comparable to calzaghe

Not often we agree, he at least has a chance, it's heavyweight boxing

I do concede he isn't the favourite and that's obviously the way it should be

I remember a good poster on here, I think it was that dynamic guy saying he felt it was 70/30 usyk. I feel even 80/20 is fair, but zero chance is just absurd

Someone should tell Fury, Usyk, and Turkey that the fight is cancelled because someone on the internet thinks it's a foregone conclusion.

I would like Fury to come in like he did for the Wilder II fight. Heavy, on the front, flat foot, with a heavy jab, trying to do damage. He's of course in danger to be countered that way and he needs to stop Usyk in the first 6 rounds, but it's his only chance imo. He can't outbox him on the backfoot bouncing on his toes.
