What next for George Groves

i think he should stay fighting in either america or over in germany (america ideally tho) until he can secure a british title fight. the board need to start making these fights happen instead of keeping the belt with 1 promoter

 

As Rob say, I don't think Groves will "bother" with the British and go for the Euro.

If he can get on a bill in the US some time in September then I would like to see him fight in the US then DeGale before the end of the year if both win. I like what I see of Groves and with him hopefully getting on cards both in the UK and US it will only be a good thing for the lad.

 

I'd get him on an undercard tour to pick up experience rather than being concerned with titles.

Most of the ''journeymen'' in America would be comfortably inside our domestic top 10 anyway, likewise there are many tough foes to be found in Germany.

Either that or tempt someone like a Montell Griffin over.

That said, they are both pretty young and have different promoters so it's obviously not straight forward..... a year from now would be fine.

Haye should fight a Klitschko or retire though :deal

 

Ideally let Degale get the Brit, Groves the Euro and they can fight an eliminator for a world title shot next summer/ autumn.

The way I can realistically see it happening is one picks up a Mickey Mouse world title and defends against the other guy. They'll both earn well without having to prove they are the best in world before they fight.

Oh, and don't hold your breath for Haye to retire while he's on £4 million a fight....

It's just a shame that we don't have proper domestic rivalries anymore, where half the British champions aren't the best in their weightclass, and many of the challengers very average.

If I was on £4m a fight I wouldn't be doing what Haye is doing - I'd have Vitali Klitschko signed up for this weekend. And next. And the one after that.

Both points are true.

It all depends on what they want to do with him over the next couple of years.

The domestic fighters that are on his radar and vice versa in the immediate future aren't that cracking - the money might be better but a few easy stoppages will be of less benefit than a similar number of tough 8 or 10 rounders.
