It's a year since he's boxed. His name has been mentioned in despatches involving Danny Green.

What's next for 42 year old James Toney?

Surely it's either back in the boxing ring or retirement for Toney at 42?

    Toney can't be taken seriously.
He was faced with a momentus task yesterday a nd he failed in every aspect, not least turning up fit to fight.
It's inconcievable to think Green v Toney could be made at any given wieght catchwieght included.
Green needs to fight a legit criuserwieght no question or get out of boxing and leave up to genuine fighters to make some headlines for us Aussies to rally behind and throw a bit of cash at for PPV.

Agreed mate. Toney seems to have reached the 'anything for a buck' stage.

Saw footage of him training, and he comes across as dumb as they come. Sadly, fighting would appear to be all he knows, and that won't last him much longer.

As unlikely as a Green match-up might be, and that's probably good all things considered, I'd like nothing more than to see Green punish him.

I don't think that it's fair on Danny Green to have to fight the 230 pound of lard heavyweight that is Toney. So, I don't see this fight happening.

    Exactly.

Thing is, with no mandatories, it seems the reigning champ can do as they bloody please!

Its sad that people even are thinking this could happen. What depths has aussie boxing dropped too? Its a small industry and when people in control make stupid decisions it sets the standard for what people expect from boxing in Australia.

The only fair dinkum fight Toney is going to have, is with his knife & fork.

Couple of years time he'll have his own postcode.

Toney is a boxer, if he fought Green at Heavyweight Danny would have his ass handed to him. Danny and his promo circus are trying to bring up as many names as they can to attract more attention to the Green Circus promotions. Holyfeild just to name one. Danny wants to fight safe fights against living corpses. Tony would knock Danny out no problem so this fight will not happen anytime soon.

Im not so sure if Toney would knock anyone out these days..I couldnt see him taking bouts against the likes of Green very seriously..

Toney unfortunetly believes he is still the boxer he was as a middle-cruiserweight...

In all seriousness, I'm not sure that Toney can be competitive at any level these days Ty.
He's 42. 5' 10". Weighs around 240 Pounds & hasn't done anything outstanding since he beat Holyfield 7 years ago.

About the only thing that gives credibility to these fighters is that the "Seniors tour" is making them good coin.

The 47 year old Evander falls into this catagory & I guess they will be calling each other out. "Run the flag up & see who salutes" sort of thing.
If there's interest, try & get it on.

None of these represent anything of value to me because their punch resistance is shot & you never know what tack they are going to take to survive, & I'm pretty much done with boxers "fighting" their trainers under bodgey names.

Not much to get excited about IMO.
