what next for old man river?

Fighting Dawson would be awesome. People would get upset that Dawson's punch output was lower than usual, though, and claim he had an off night.

If I were him, I would fight the winner of Calzaghe/Kessler or a rematch with Roy Jones if he gets past Trinidad. Get the big money fights and stay away from Chad Dawson.

 

I can't see anybody stopping Hopkins. Although Dawson, Calzaghe, Kessler, Erdei, and Woods all win decisions in my opinion.

I agree. Maybe Hops loses a decision to some of those guys (I think he takes Erdei and Woods) but I don't see him getting stopped.

 

Yah, I can't see anyone stopping him. Dawson for example would have to be a little more cautious than usual, but so would Hopkins. It's hard to counter punch someone 3in taller than you who has faster hands.

 

Tarver will come no where near Dawson. Dawson already looked towards that fight, and Tarver keeps fighting guys no one has ever heard of. Guys like Tarver, Jones, and Hopkins want nothing to do with Dawson.

 

Hopkins can do whatever he wants, he's a true champion in every sense of the word. I feel sorry or any fool who gets in the ring with the living legend. Dawson, Roy Jones, Glen Johnson, Calzaghe, whoever wants to get their ass whipped should fight Nard.

 

No ****in way. This would surely be Calzaghe's last fight. No way he would get back into the ring after being embarrased by Nard. This fight will never happen anyway, because Kessler is going to beat the hell out of J.C

 

Calzaghe is the only fight that truely makes sense.

Money wise, resume wise, historically wise.

Dawson would be a good choice, but at this point in his career, he hasnt done enough to warrent the kind of purse and PPV that Hopkins will be aiming for.

Pavlik, you guys have to be kidding me. Hopkins will ruin that boy. He aint KOing Bernard, and we all saw how Taylor had him out on his feet....He would make it ten with Bernard, and I doubt there is much money in it anyway.

Calzaghe is a legend (whether some want to admit it or not). He is ULTRA skilled and is also looking for, not only a big payday, but also a big fight in the US. What bigger money fight or bigger fight for that matter could he find other than Bernard?

The only other option would be, if Maskaev somehow beats Peter, Hop has already mentioned his name...or maybe Sultan. Both very winnable fights. Tho no other HW titlist would make sense....because I just couldnt see Hop winning...and he is a VERY smart man, Im sure he feels the same way.

Bernard, as I said is only looking for big money/big name fights to close out his career....and honestly, who can blame him.
