After last nights performance an immediate Joshua trilogy seems unlikely. If you were steering his career what direction would you go? Personally I'd look to get Arreola in the ring in California. Would draw a good crowd and give him a winnable fight and a training camp to slim down a bit. After that maybe see if an Ortiz fight can be made. I'd avoid mobile heavyweights like Fury, Parker, and Usyk like the plague unless it was for a title.

    A) Get in shape and have competitive fights / or building up his way to another world title fight

    B) Keep eating and have a few "high money cashout" fights. Then retire in Mexico.

After seeing him come in even bigger in the rematch indicates to me that he has lost the discipline needed to compete at the world level and it would be best for him to retire, go to college and take some financial courses to learn how to manage your money. I'd even suggest therapy / counselling to help with the transition. He has grown up on the empty dream of consumerism ( I bought in too! ) and desires shiny rocks, yellow metal and cars that cost 10k to change the oil and put air in the tires, never mind the insurance... every year. Overhead Andy, it's a *****! And if he doesn't change his behaviour he will be in a worse place in a decade than he was 5 years ago. I really wish him the best, as a kid I was on welfare and know what it's like to want.

He needs to decide whether he wants to be a professional athlete. If he does, he then needs to choose his opponents wisely.

Back to being an unknown bum no one really cares about. The sport and its fans are brutal
When you are on top you are the king. When you are down you are treated like garbage. Ruiz' downfall reminds me of Ronda Rousey

This was a humbling defeat but he has the skills to be in some good fights and get some solid wins
It all depends on his motivation

I think that may be the last we see of him.

He's fight purses now will be a pittance compared to his fights with AJ. If he can't dedicate himself when he's earning £9m, he certainly won't be motivated to fight for 100k.
