Maybe he should hold off and see if Haye can beat his little bro. If he can, Vitali can try and avenge the loss and win or lose, he goes out with a big event. That was actually my dream for Vitali for quite some time since I'm a fan of his. It would probably be better for boxing if he were to lose in such a scenario, but if he were to win then good for him.
Another thing to consider is how much weight will Solis put on if he's has his leg injured for that long. He will honestly become obese and well over 300lbs i imagine. If Helenius beats Peter Vitali may take him on so Vova doesn't have to considering that Robert is their size and has serious power.
Oh yeah, right...and you think the german fans know that? They don't know ****, they think that Sven Ottke is one of the most dominant and greatest champions of all time. You know why Sturm can make a shitload of money only fighting cans? Because it doesn't make a difference for them if he fights Ronald Hearns or Sergio Martinez, they don't know either. Maybe 1% of the german "boxing-fans" know who Manny Pacquiao is... And you want to tell me they know the difference between a voluntary and a mandatory defence? I know what i'm talking about, i'm german...
Vitali will get hit too since Robert will be within his range. His typical pull back D won't be nearly as effective. It could turn into a Lewis/Sanders type Vitali slugfest with two huge guys who can both punch.
He'll probably face Adamek next and if Haye were to upset Wlad or give a good effort in a loss then obviously he'd face Haye after that. Considering Vitali's age I think there are still a few challenges out there for him besides Adamek and Haye. I think Povetkin is a live underdog with Vitali. Boystov is one nice win away from being a possible challenger and if Helenius beats Peter then he gets himself into the mix. All three are young, undefeated, contenders and considering Vitali's age there chances go up by the month. There's also contenders that his brother has beaten that could be interesting like Chambers and Chagaev. I don't think any of these guys beat Vitali but if he does keep fighting then some of them could be interesting and Vitali's only getting older so I wouln't rule them out completely.
He'll demand all kinds of certificates from knee specialists, and when Solis gets the all clear he'll quit. Again.
