i've been wondering this morning what might happen next with haye... i am thinking he won't want to go out on the loss, and maybe, just maybe, will look at the winner of chisora v fury for a huge fight in manchester or london....he'll be interested in the biggest money fight available to him and i think a huge domestic clash like that may be the only thing to offer that to him....i can also see haye spouting his shite about how the british title means so much to him, its in front of his own people, this is for the fans etc and...bear with me here...if chisora beats fury...could wlad re-offer chisora his fight...he could be thinking about how the british boxing fans and their willingness to travel and how he is very topical with the casual british boxing fan now, and how he has been very complimentary towards hayes fans that went out...and how he has wanted to do the right thing by chisora after the two previous call-offs....he could see chisora as an easy defence against a man who will accept peanuts and he gets to keeps most of the purse. could any of that happen ?
I was thinking about the British title scenario myself simply because he never won it. Given Wlad's love for the UK fans he might fancy fighting over here against Chisora. I just hope Haye doesn't take a bow out fight against 'legends' RJJ, Holyfield or anything farcial like that.
Sky won't buy that **** (Haye vs Fury/Chisora). They'd be absolutely freaking stupid to, and especially put some crap like that on PPV. If David Haye is going to chase domestic match-ups where he can talk a lot of ****, cuts their brother's head's off and then go in there and put up a farce, then I rather see him retire. He lost at the top. Why go back to Domestic? Makes no sense. Who in all honesty would buy that ****?
yes, but i'm thinking on a hayemaker promotion he could get away with offering the winner of chisora v fury less than what a former legend may demand.
Povetkin would put him straight back in the mix for a rematch, though I doubt it would draw that much interest with the general public. In the grand scheme o things I'm not quite sure what beating Fury/Chisora would do for him and Chisora could well prove to be a tricky customer. Whatever he does, he's not going to draw the kind of money he has been, he's going to be fighting for relatively peanuts. He'll be fighting for more than just money. At the end of the day the heavy weight division is hardly full of attractive fights right now, I mean, Wlad's been reduced to challenging fighters who are little more than domestic novices. Maybe Chris Arreola or Adamek might be an option, both are top ten rated heavies.
Well, whoever does, must be ******ed to want to see that over Khan/Judah. I'm sure you'd buy Haye/Harrison II :thumbsup
After the likes of the Audley total joke of a fight, the little toe excuse etc... I wouldn't be surprised at all if Haye went down that route.
well, i think he might want to go out on a win, and i think he would fancy his chances of the win against fury / chisora a lot more than a top contender and it would obviously make him more money than a top contender, especially if he's serious about only having one more fight....and he's promoting himself.
I'd like to see Haye carry on, he's cashed out and is probably now the country's least favourite fighter. If he wants another big pay day he needs to build up his rapport with fans, make himself more likable fight better standard fighters more often. Then he can fight against Wlad or Vitali again for megabucks
He'll retire. Without all the smack-talk and bravado Haye won't be an attraction. He's not a Hatton, who was a "man of the people" and could still attract crowds for a Lazcano type fight. He sells himself on aloofness and elitism and with that stripped away for good, the whole Hayemaker brand is devoid of substance. Shame. For all the talk I thought he was a breath of fresh air and he was the real deal in the ring. He took some huge shots last night, stuck his chin out and made Wlad look stupid at times, and in flashes showed that he could trouble Wlad. He was just missing a whole offensive dimension, most notably that 'second phase' Booth was referring to. Instead of following up he decided to reset. I was especially disappointed with the dearth of left hooks thrown or straight lefts. As Hatton might say "it was the same move everytime".
I would! I think you're underestimating the respect people have for the British title. Haye's days as a superstar are over, realistically these mega mainstream PPV type fights only come every few years, once you lose one you're cooked. It's all about image and hype, they're selling a dream as soon as reality sets in they can't sell ****!
