the likes of chambers, arreola, adamek, povitkin are all hard tough fights that he could lose...and he would have to get them over here to make money and pay them a sizeable purse if he's promoting... so, big risk for smaller payday a big domestic clash against a rising unbeaten star for a big title..like chisora or fury..who would demand a lesser purse than a top contender... smaller risk for bigger money thats if he is only wanting one more fight like he says.....but i believe fook all he says, never did really.
Yeah agree with you. He can hurt even the super heavy types and showed his skill and a decent chin he's developed well and can still beat the likes of Povetkin although i doubt he go anywhere near a threat. Shambles of a career that's turning out to be but he can still sell out a arena's here but i don't think his heart's in it anymore and that's always a worry.
Yeah doug, they're risky. Heavyweight boxing is inherently risky unless you're big enough to keep out of the way. But the thing is, Haye's stock is already rock bottom even though he's only lost to a top, top fighter. The context of the loss means he's very poorly perceived. How much lower do you think he can go? The risk/reward of beating those guys and proving himself is actually very favorable to him.
to the average british sports fan who come out for only big fights, the names chisora and tyson fury will mean more that povetkin, adamek etc
Perhaps, but I'm talking about for his overall standing. Beating Chisora/Fury would probably add to the clown factor more than enhance it. Whereas beating world contenders gives Haye some face again before he sets off into the sunset.
If he fights on then I've got a feeling toegate will just be the beginning of Haye spouting more rubbish to suit his agenda. I've not enjoyed the last few years and hope he retires but if he doesn't then I think he'll be looking at a 'safe' opponent with an impressive record on paper and a bogus alphabet ranking on which Haye feels he can mug the fans off with. I'd not be surprised if someone like Cedric Boswell fit the bill. Or perhaps Buncey will finally get his wish to see Haye-JD Chapman? lol
I would like to see him fight on, and get himself into another mandatory position. Not going back to cruiser or anything like that. It's absurd to think he's finished, from losing to Wlad. I don't personally think the manner of defeat was as bad, as i predicted before....
