What no one is talking about: Canelo's Preparation Opponent Wise

They are worried about Alvarez making weight, I don't think he will, he wants as much weight as he can, if he does not make weight the fight will go on because Oscar can break the rules of boxing, he owns the judges, referee boxing commission and Bob Bennett, so Bob Bennett will say it's OK, they changed the rules for SOB and they will change the rules for Alvarez. The weight gain is because Alvarez is going for a knockout early, if he runs out of gas, he has a rematch........................

 

My honest gut feeling on this is that Oscar does not believe Canelo cuts it with the big boys in the Middleweight division, his best assets just dont stretch fully to 160. He is heavy like a Middleweight, struggles with 154 but he is short and stocky.

But Oscar cares about money more than his Boxers or Boxing. Canelo Golovkin makes a shed load of money, too much to turn down even if he feels his man has no chance. Oscar also seems scared that defeat means loss of income, less arguing power for bigger shares of revenue in future fights. So he held off from this one, kept him winning against smaller men at 154 and the stupid 155 thing which was also a good deterent for any true top rated Middleweights wanting that WBC belt he managed to snag and if they couldnt deter them it would atleast drain them a little.

But now it is time to cash out, Canelo has run his course, 154 is dead and a struggle, he has to move to 160 for his body and for the money. Oscer has kept him away from Middleweights, he hasnt lost again since Floyd, he can keep using the A Side argument to grab as much cash as he can. Its a gamble but if Canelo loses he makes a load of money, should he win then Oscar will be in dreamland and that sets up a whole new course of money making. But Oscar wont hold his breath on a Canelo win but the money will be sweet.

 

Lemieux has more power than Golovkin. He really wings those punches. He's not a patch on Golovkin as a BOXER though, and that's why GGG handled him easily. Also, Lemieux would likely have turfed Canelo, no way they'd take that chance.

 

I tend to agree with this. But WHICH 160lb fighter would be a good test? Things start getting tricky, because lots of the top 160 guys can really bang.

Lemieux? Hell no.
Stevens? Likewise, he has steam on his shots
Murray? Maybe, but he's the sort of guy that would soak up Canelo's shots and then flurry back, making him look bad.
Rosado ... maybe ... but Rosado is a tiger in there and he might just give Canelo all he could handle.
Charlo ... no. He would have fought Charlo at 154 already if he wanted to.
That leaves guys like, well, maybe Heiland?

I think Canelo is going to be shocked at the change in level, and even IF he sparred with legit MW's, Golovkin spars with guys like frickin Benvenidez and GASSIEV, ffs.
