I thought he got robbed vs Hatton and then Berto, he broke his hand vs Mosely in rd 2, then couldn't get fights its been a long dry spell for a fighter who has world class skills.

Collazo tore Victor in half, Ortiz was walking in way too aggressive, showing little respect for Collazo and got absolutey nailed with a short hook and counted out.

Collazo is a consummate pro with beautiful skills and heart, but has had a bit of hard luck, he deserves some fights. I say Thurman or hey! Broner ? what about Rios, what now for Collazo?

I would like to see him in a quality fight at Sho or Hbo for some decent money kid deserves it.

    Broner
    Rios
    Alvarado
    Khan
    Lamont

Some good opportunities for him... I hope he gets them.

he deserves a big fight. He is a very solid boxer. Any top fighter from 140-147 would suffice. I still recall when he beat Hatton and Berto, but got robbed. Hope he gets some justice with this win.

Collazo's slickness mixed with him being a southpaw would give Thurman some trouble

    Luis Collazo vs. Luis Abregu

    Both deserve a big date.

Perfect blend of styles too. Collazo the boxer; Abregu the pressure fighter.

Collazo is a seasoned world class fighter, very slick, a southpaw, good chin and has heart and is very durable good defense and will mix it up, but I like his durability and mental strength. Went hammer and nails with Berto and Took a younger Moselys best without tasting the canvas. The knockdown vs Hatton was more of a slip. Collazo is seasones and a threat to almost nyone at 147.

    He is better than Kahn.

Hatton was out on his feet late in that fight what a robbery unless your British, or an anglophile no way you could score it for Hatton and Collazo was the Champ at the time, first fight Hatton looked like **** in at 147

Agreed; I always felt he was the first to defeat Ricky, long before Mayweather and Pacquiao (let alone Senchenko).

Hatton was realistically 0-3 at welterweight.

People always say this, but weight had nothing to do with it. Like many in this thread have said, Collazo is a slcik southpaw with worldclass skills. That's what troubled Hatton not fighting at WW.
