He's just been on Sky Sports saying he wont retire, he doesnt think Bute will use his rematch clause.....hes spoken to Mikkel Kessler and wants a rematch with him in Nottigham which Kessler has basically agreed too (claims they are friends now) and also wants a rematch with ward. For me I think a Kessler fight in Nottingham then a rematch with Ward (lets be honest it will probably be in Oalkland....maybe evens Wards actual back garden) before retirement aged 35 is the way to go...although he said 2 more years. Why are people even bringing up Dirrells name? Whats he done these past 2 years? ...and what wanker through a grape in Froch' eye?
froch and kessler are just plain and simple warriors and you have to be a fan of them. they are ready to challenge themselves and are ready to travel. Kudos to both i think we will see froch vs kessler in nottingham next. froch will win by controversial decision and we will see froch vs kessler III on neutral venue and they will both retire after the fight. That would be nice. **** ward, he is too good for them. let him fight gimmies and make 100k / fight^^
It has to be Kessler at the City Ground. It will sell around 30,000 tickets, I'm sure of that. If he fights Kessler, then has a rematch with Bute...maybe DeGale or Groves will be good opponents by then? For me, there's no benefit in going after Ward again. He's thoroughly boring and I don't want to see him spoil his way to another boring UD. We need entertainment in boxing and Ward doesn't provide that, so if a rematch doesn't happen, so be it.
Has Froch said he'd be prepared to go up to 175? I recall him talking about fighting at catchweight v Calzaghe because 175 was too much of a jump. That said, if he did go up to Light Heavy it would be very interesting and some very beatable opponents there for him....Re-Match with Pascal, Dawson, Kessler..would also like to see a big domestic showdown v Cleverly. He's by far my favourite British boxer at the moment, can't believe Sky ignored him for so long.
Right now they are, yeah, but if he fights Kessler and then someone else, a fighter like Groves could have had three or four fights in that period which would allow him to really mature. I don't think it'd be a bad fight if Groves beat Stieglitz or something. There would be lots of attention for it too.
