yeah me too but he's fought at a much higher level which I doubt he can get back to. He has nothing else to prove but it depends on how much fight is left in the fighter and how much he needs to earn money. He's had a good career, IMO has a few more fights left in him that culd earn him a few quid but wouldnt like to see him taking more losses as he's usually in tough fights...he's a fighter i admire cos he's prepared to take some to get some off...mind you he had to due to his size!
the rematch would generate a larger pot of money....and it could headline its own card....but how much of the pot could rees demand...having lost first fight on paper ?? and people talking about if rees wants to fight again....I wonder if buckland would want to go through all that again..after getting the win already.
That is true, but it is the biggest money fight out there for him, whether he wins the British title or not. The second fight makes sense for both fighters but both fighters have plenty of reason not to aswell, be interesting to see where they both go from here.
Totally agree fellas in that the 2nd fight would generate more money how much more not massive TBH. The first fight was brutal career shortening for us fans would love to see it again. If i was involved with Rees i would honestly say call it a day.Buckland i don't think he needs it again.
He needs to call it a day imo not one to tell sports stars when to pack it up, but i cant see him hit the heights he has done before
It must be hard to go out on a 'unjust' decision, the fighter inside him will be itching to put the record straight. One more fight then retire I would be leaning towards, especially if he could rematch for the British Title.
I would like to see the fight again but would be happy to see Rees call it a day. Because of his style every one of Rees fights is a hard fight, and it will take its toll on the body in years to come.
