3 losses in world titles fights? 2 of which were pretty humiliating and all 3 fighters shown not to be world level.

the top prospects looks at least 2-3 years away from world level and the likes of Andy Lee showed heart and got an impressive win in his last fight but nobody really thinks he can win a world title.

I'm worried for Irish Boxing, other than Casey-Rigondeaux there hasn't been a card on RTE this year. Which is a shame after such a major renaissance in recent years but it looks from the outside like it has gone out of the window again.

Won't be long until the Irish am's start turning over to the Pro game there is too many good ams at the minute here some will have to change over. Other than that what's to stop Casey and McCloskey going back to what they were doing before on RTE.

But that's the problem what has happened to RTE nothing this year other than Casey-Rigondeaux, have they finished with Brian Peters?

Such a shame that Darren Sutherland is no longer with us - he had more natural talent and amateur credentials than any of the recent Irish title challengers

They show the ams and outside of Dunne and the odd Duddy come back they rarely had much shows on anyway. Not sure if they have any plans coming through at the minute but there isn't much to work off. Casey card, McCloskey card maybe a Lee card and thats about it.

    Carl Frampton TKO the World.

Lets start the great debate about former Irish international, Carl Frampton, and 3 time Irish Amateur Champion, Carl Framptoin, being property of the brits though.

I don't give a **** that he'll win brit and commonwealth titles or that brits like him or claim him or whatever. What bothers the **** out of me is that certain people try and claim that he's not an Irish boxer. The boy was born and bred on the island and he was trained in the Irish High Performance setup.

So long story short. Frampton is the next Irish boxing big deal. And I cannot wait until he batter Scott Quiggs stupid little ****ing head in.

    Maximum Banjo!

Last year there were 10 cards in Ireland, which the vast majority of those were televised and these included cards that did not involve the biggest Irish names, they had one card headlined by Andy Murray and one was co-headlined by four Irish Title fights.

This year there have been two, just saying it looks like RTE are done with Boxing for the moment.

Jesus christ you do realise that the RTE sports broadcast budget has been cut by something like 80%?

    Its alright.

We have Macklin, Perez in Prizefighter, Luis Garcia, Tyson Fury, Frankie Gavin, Frampton and as you only posted this thread as a wum, Paul McCloskey showed he could hang with the future p4p great amir khan and was robbed of his opportunity.

No doubt about it, it will be a good while yet before we get another good amount of fights on tv. I think RTE missed a trick with the Cubans they could of been a decent transition until we found a marketable fighter.

Not confident in Murray either making the grade.

Apparently Andy Murray looked crap tonight as well, struggled past Higginson. All on Frampton until some of the AMs turn pro.

If that's directed me, you do realise I don't live in Ireland and therefore I don't have RTE so I wouldn't know, would I. But all that does is confirm what I was stating that RTE looked like they were done with Boxing.
