Assuming Usyk fights Joshua what do you think Joyce will do? He's 36 this year so obviously needs to get a move on.

I'd personally love to see him fight Whyte, I reckon it'd do massive PPV numbers in the UK. Doesn't seem likely though with Joyce being on BT and Whyte on Sky.

    Other options, Ortiz? Parker? Povetkin?

I’d push for a Whyte or Parker fight if I was Joyce, fights I think he wins.

Geriatric Ortiz is chasing fat Andy, Parker wants a low risk, high financial reward rematch with Chisora and grandpa Povetkin was shot to bits 9 months ago, let alone in the Whyte rematch and Whyte will sit on his WBC mandatory position rather than take a dangerous fight. It may have to be a lesser known name like Frank Sanchez or Demsey McKean, anyone with a top 15 ranking really. Joyce-Yoka would be very interesting, as would Hrgovic-Yoka. Hrgovic is having the same problems as Joyce but with the IBF rather than the WBO: a severe paucity of ranked opponents who want to fight.

He needs to face one of the sky PPV gatekeepers to get onto the merry go round...

He beats Whyte, Parker, Chisora and Povetkin in his sleep for me. They are the current gatekeepers.

He is clearly superior to them...But good luck getting a shot and getting on the pay day merry go around...

For some reason the likes of Paint Dry Parker keep on getting PPV money despite being A. Crap and B. Boring.

One of them would lose their probable mandatary position (for the WBO or IBF respectively) so Joyce-Hrgovic doesn't make sense right now.

Joyce only would have that possibility(WBO) if he would fought Usyk, but since Usyk vs AJ is next, he is going to be in good position fighting Hrgovic for IBF eleminator.

And Hrgovic needs a step up fight to prove he is good for that position and should have revenge since amateurs. ( he lost to Joyce in the past)

    Neither of them are mandatories.

Joyce is ranked 2nd by WBO and only would of gotten the mandatory if he had beaten Usyk for the interim title.

Hrgovic was mandated for an eliminator with Hunter but this wasn't a final eliminator for the mandatory position. Charles Martin beat Washington in an IBF eliminator for the number 1 position. If Hrgovic had beaten Hunter he would then be set to have a final eliminator against Martin and the winner of that would of then been the IBF mandatory.

So with both of them having opponents pull out against them it's a fight that makes sense if they can either convince the WBO to make it for the interim title and WBO mandatory position or make it an IBF eliminator to then secure a final eliminator vs Martin.

Doubt Whyte will want to fight Joe Joyce as it’s a match he cannot win.

Joe Joyce needs a solid name to his resume before he goes anywhere near the big boys.

He should go for Dillian Whyte, Parkers, and Ortizes of this world. Winner can join the top echelons of HW division.

    Joseph Parker definitely.

    WBO rankings -
    JOSHUA
    -----------------
    USYK
    Joyce
    Parker
    Wilder
    Ruiz
    Sanchez.

Parker vs Joyce is the logical option for both as the winner will almost certainly become the mandatory for whoever wins AJ vs Usyk.

WBO is the only list he's gonna get a shot any time soon. He can't fight Usyk now, so the only choice for Joyce is Parker, unless he loses his ambition and just fights someone **** for a payday.

He'd decision Parker and stop Whyte imo. Hrgovic harder to tell.
