IMO Huck won that fight by 1 point, a draw at worst. Povetkin leaned down multiple times below Hucks waist to avoid being hurt, punched after the bell (and got a punch in return ) was hurt multiple times and walked into Hucks jab all night long but Kay sara sara. Now Huck is a legitimate Heavyweight contender who do you see him fighting next? Tomasz Adamek would make a good fight, be interesting how the two former cruisers match up Chris Arreola would never travel to Germany so would Huck risk going over to US soil? Yoan Pablo Hernandez attended the fight interestingly enough so who knows maybe he would move up or Huck would move back down? Cunningham rematch also? Robert Helenius or Derek Chisora are also two mouth watering clashes and who said Heavyweight was dead? Captain Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook!!!
Huck lost that fight. You dont win fights (belts at that...) by primitive rabbit punching, caveman swings and lucky jabs. While Povetkin was in trouble at times (he wasnt himself for some reason), he won that fight by 2-3 rounds.
Lucky jabs? Caveman swings? It really doesn't matter how bad the punches looked, the question is were they effective? The answer? An unequivocal yes :yep
He should rematch Povetkin, if he can beat him with Atlas, then he is officially #1 contender to the Klitschkos
The fight was very entertaining so a rematch would be great to see. My guess is though, Povetkin comes in better next time around and boxes Huck's ears off.
a fight with Adamek, or maybe winner of Pulev-Dimitrienko a fight with Chisora will not happen, I don't see the german boxing federation allowing Chisora to fight in Germany, and I don't see Huck ever leaving Germany rematch with Povietkin would also be good
