Do you think he will drop down to 154? or even 147? And what do you think he can do at these weights and against who?

Mayorga probably will float between 147-154 looking for fights. He'll always be a threat to top contenders but never serious title holder.

He will probably fight Forrest again, but get stopped this time. I like him, but he wasn't very impressive against Vargas and it's clear he's just chasing one last big money fight.

Do you expect a 3rd match with Vernon then?

    1. It's logical for him to pursue a rematch with Vernon Forrest. A guy who he beat twice. I think Forrest won't refuse, he also wants redemption and to erase to stigma that Mayorga has his number.

    2. Maybe try to be a three division champ and push his luck against Pavlik. I know, Pavlik punches like a mule. But who knows, Pavlik showed us that he's not invincible against taylor where he was on the verge of getting stopped at the 2nd round. He's not the most skilled champ either.

    3. Or go to europe and take on lesser known fighters like Sturm, Mariano Carrera and Javier Castillejo. Guys whom he can make money till another skilled guy comes along and beats the crap out of him.

Yes, and I believe Forrest will win convincingly the third time around.

He wont fight Forrest again.Theres no money in it and Forrest is no longer a draw.He was hardly a draw before that and only made his name when he beat Sugar Shane.Mayorga has 2 solid wins over Vernon.Whats the point in a 3rd bout?! Mayorga will more than likely drop to 47 and make some big money against guys like Margo Cintron Williams Cotto Shane Judah Baldo.. the list is pretty much endless at 47/54.Anyone of those bouts would be a PPV and would make him far more cash than a fight with Vernon again.

Yeah, I can see that fight happening. I hate Margarito and the fans that used to hype him, but he would beat Mayorga easily.

What about 160? He better stay away from Pavlik if he does. Maybe he can be the second welter/S Wleter to KO Sturm. After all Catejello was beaten by Vargas and later Ko'd Sturm. That doesn't give Mayorga an automatic W but it'd be worth a try.

That wouldn't be bad both have losses to Cory Spinks. Still Mayorga would only have to lose four pounds and have a chance to pick up a title at a third weight class if he fought Sturm. Cory split two with Judah though but Spinks split two with a guy whom Mayorga defeated.
