Plant is not a C+ fighter. He's at worst a B level fighter. C+ is slightly better than mediocre, which he isn't.

I mean based on what? Who has Plant beaten? 39 year old Truax? Old af Direll? Uzi? And then he got stopped and battered the only 2 times he stepped up in competition...

Yeah, he's C+ until he proves he's not a fringe contender. Most fans on here would agree Jermall, Andrade, Morrell, and possibly even Ryder would be favorite to beat Plant at this point.

Plants still a top tier SMW, far from gatekeeper status. Only lost to Canelo and Benavidez. No crime in that.

Plant and Charlo have large ethnic followings. Not every fighter has that.

Or stop taking on opponents who apply relentless pressure and drain that leaky gas tank?

How about a move to 175?

I think he's one of several PBC fighters who have achieved less than they could by draining themselves past the age when boiling down stops being such a big advantage.

Caleb Plant is just as skilled as Ugas, Thurman, and Brook who dealt with Porter very easily.

Have him fight Yamaguchi Falcoa or David Lemiuex. Edgar Berlanga would be interesting

I’m not so sure about 175. Plant’s problem is being able to hurt his opponent. He can throw quick combos in flurries but doesn’t get the pop that causes the other guy from thinking twice about coming in. That’s why he needs to do it for 12 rnds and against top guys he can’t do that. Take that to 175 and I think he gets steam rolled. Unless it fixes his stamina where he can throw them combos and move for 12 rnds.

A following is a following and a hood is a hood. Ethic or not.

Winning 3 rounds off of Canelo and Benavidez, then badly gassing and getting KO'd and brutalized, means he's a Tony Harrison level fighter, which is around C to C+. A level are guys who win by domination, B level guys are fighters like Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman, who lose 7-5 to A level guys. A & B are Team Elite. Guys who wins 3 rounds, fall apart, and get ****ed up.... aren't Team Elite.

Caleb Plant has never comes close to beating an A level or B level fighter.

    Anthony Dirrell C
    Caleb Truax C
    Vincent Feigenbutz C-
    Mike Lee D-
    José Uzcátegui C
    Rogelio Medina C-
    Andrew Hernandez C-
    Thomas Awimbono D+
    Juan De Angel D+
    Carlos Galvan D
    Adasat Rodriguez D-
    Tyrone Brunson D+

Errol Spence Jr. has fought several opponents above Plant's level. In fact, I'm not even sure Algieri isn't a higher caliber fighter than Plant. Plant doesn't have one win as impressive as Provodnikov.

    Yordenis Ugás C+
    Danny García B
    Shawn Porter B+
    Mikey Garcia B
    Carlos Ocampo C
    Lamont Peterson C
    Kell Brook B+
    Leonard Bundu C
    Chris Algieri C
    Alejandro Barrera C-
    Chris van Heerden C
    Phil Lo Greco D
    Samuel Vargas C-
    Francisco Javier Castro D
    Noe Bolanos D
    Ronald Cruz D+

Terence Crawford has also fought several opponents above Plant's level. Several of his C level opponents have far more impressive resumes than Plant. Gamboa, Kavaliauskas, Horn, Postol and Dulorme included.

    David Avanesyan C+
    Shawn Porter B+
    Kell Brook B+
    Egidijus Kavaliauskas C+
    Amir Khan C+
    José Benavidez Jr. C+
    Jeff Horn C+
    Julius Indongo D+
    Félix Díaz C
    John Molina Jr. C-
    Viktor Postol C+
    Hank Lundy C-
    Dierry Jean D
    Thomas Dulorme C
    Ray Beltrán C
    Yuriorkis Gamboa C+
    Ricky Burns C
    Andrey Klimov C-
    Alejandro Sanabria D
    Breidis Prescott C-

I seen people calling Plant elite on Reddit. Those must be all the people brought in by the YouTube fighters we keep hearing about because Plant is nowhere near elite and it’s atrocious that anyone would even think he is.
