I honestly thought he would win the contender, but honestly he didnt look real good in there against b grade fighters. i really think he may of reached the end of the road for his boxing career on the international scene. he may get some good publicity through the contender, but i really think its time for one of the genuine nice guys of aussie boxing to call it a day.

He was always going to struggle in The Contender. He's built for 12 rounders (or even longer if they were allowed), and tends to wear down his opponents down the stretch. This gets taken away from him in The Contender fights.

I reckon he should drop to middleweight and try and see what he can get there.

my brother always raves about sam at middeweight and thought it was so unfair that after performing so well at mw he didnt get a title shot there and had to fight mundine at swm, honestly sam looks like a fit smw to me, but he might have more going for him at mw, he has such a unconventional style, it would be enough to trouble anyone. what do you think about 154?? could he make weight and be competive there. its not the busiest division in the world these days, sam could probably turn a few heads in there, other than that i dont know what he should do.

Sam has fought at a number of different weight levels, I'm not sure if he could make 154 now at this stage in his career. I think middle is his go. Though unfortunately I don't see him getting a title shot anytime soon, though he still should be able to draw some decent opposition, that is if he's still fighting in the US.

I agree, I think he should drop back to MW - that's his optimum weight IMO.

hes a very small super middle, he can definately make middle, he weighs in 165-166 which is light and for middle you weigh 160 asif he cant dehydrate 5 pounds, however i think no one will give him a go because he is alot of risk for very little reward, his style is very wierd sometimes ugly to watch but for a boxer that isnt so great its very hard to deal with and you just dont know what to expect.....

Yeah I don't think he's built for SMW. Definatley MW or possibly JMW if he could make the weight. Pretty sure after the mundine fight he was considering JMW so maybe not that unrealistic?

Soliman has to get back down to Middleweight, where he would be a difficult proposition for all.
He is just way too small at Super Middle.

sam should go to middle and be a gatekeeper type. can still make a few bucks.

or if AA wants to make a voluntary defense his promoter would view sam as a pretty safe proposition.

i still think sam would have more opportunity at light middleweight. i think he could make the 154 limit and still have the required power. should be interesting

I think it's a no brainer will all agree 160 is he's go.

If he can possible get to 154 that wld be even better although he's 34 and looks pretty ripped even at 168

He shld make a few dollars over the nxt 12-18 months fighting in the states as a gatekeeper

i think at 160 hes more then a gatekeeper, if he was at 154 he could win a title against whose got one now spinks? he could possibly be too strong for someone like that.....hopefully he makes good money maybe a rematch with sakio somewere down the line, i know americans like both fighters so there is potential good money on offer for them hopefully.....

The blokes had 10 losses, i think it's safe to say he's a gatekeeper.
