Chamber is probably as good as Larry Donald.

Eddie Chamber reminds me of Burt Whitehurst, esp. the Whitehurst that twice fought Sonny Liston.

There's no way that Chambers resembles the man in my avatar. Jimmy Young was waaaay more elusive and clever than Chambers will ever be. Dismiss that nonsense right now.

Chambers is a class above Larry Donald. Donald never beat a top 10 fighter in his life. Chambers beat three...Brock, Dimitrenko, and Peter.

Yeah but the top ten of today is probably equal or worse than the fighters Donald defeated or fought.

True, beating top 10 fighters isn't much of an achievement in a dreadful division. :deal

I've been impressed with Chambers, 1 of the best of this era, while not great, gets a little underrated based on how good the Klits are

Eh, Donald has been primarily active in the same era as a trial horse, fighting Austin, Valuev, Povetkin, and Old Evander. Actually the Valuev fight is probably his best performance.

He lost to a fat Bowe very early in his career but doesn't really have any other notable fights from the era in question to draw such a conclusion...his big wins over a washed up Cooper and never was Jeremy Williams? Nah, with the exception of Bowe today's top 10 is better than that.

During the late 90s and early 2000s, Donald feasted on has beens like Billups and Witherspoon on the coldest regions of the fringe and was used as a stepping stone for Vitali and Johnson. I would take Peter, Dimintrenko, and Brock over Donald's best wins from that time.

And Unlike Donald or Young, Chambers is a very good puncher...busting up Povetkin with right hands, badly damaging Brock's eye, and flooring Dimentrko with body punches and left hooks. However, I don't think he's as frustrating defensively as Donald or Young, really more of a boxer/puncher with a very tight guard than a pure spoiler like they were.

Dreadful division? Kal, I thought we agreed that any division with ATGs Barrett, Chagaev, Haye and you know who...make for the greatest division of all times...:D

Donald sucked, but he was technically pretty good. The bottom line is these guys lack championship heart, which makes me classify them in pretty much the same category. Technically they have skills, but thats where it ends. Chambers was about as affective against Wlad as Donald was against Bowe.

Getting destroyed in one more round then Norton did against Foreman, great stuff amiright?

And losing to such luminaries as the 11-2 Eduardo Corletti (Who?)

Pete Rademacher beat George as well. We all know what a great Pete was, especially with the 10 pro fights he had at the time he beat Chuvalo.

That's fair but Chambers at least was a real contender.

Donald was never anything but a challenging trial horse. Even Bowe used him as a comeback opponent after the Mathis Jr./Holyfield II poor showings.
