can move up in weight to welterweight and beat a huge fighter that uses his size to his advantage like Margarito? Is there any fighter you think can successfully do this?

    Manny Pacquiao!
He would demolish Margarito with his blend of speed and power!
Roach already said it. Manny hits like a Middle Weight...

I don't think so, Margarito's style would be very difficult for Pacquiao UNLESS Pacquiao boxes and moves like he did with Diaz. If he slugs it out and goes forward against Margarito he MIGHT eventually break down late and possibly get stopped. Margarito will be TOO big for Pacquiao with serious height/reach advantages. If Pacquiao carries his speed/stamina and boxes/moves he has a chance, if not then he is in for a serious long night.

sorry but Chico is not an effective welterweight.. he didnt belong there with Clottey in the first place. Margo would put a bad hurting on Chico unfortunatley :/. And Casa would be ineffective as a welterweight in my opinion its hard to even see him as an effective 140 lber

thats just it I cant see a "prime" Casamayor being a welterweight lol hes too small and would lack the power to get ANY respect from Margarito.

Henry Armstrong, and he'd do it by going toe to toe with Margarito, not stinking out the joint with 30 pot shots being thrown per round amidst a trackmeet.

Beyond him, I think Julio Cesar Chavez, and possibly even the Tony Canzoneri that beat Lou Ambers, and the Hector Camacho that lost to Tito Trinidad could pull it off.

Roberto Duran basically did that with Iran Barkley. He also beat Leanard @ WW, who wasn't exactly small.

Could say Whitaker did that if you think he beat DLH.

Camacho KO'd Leonard in 97 if that counts too. :D

I dont know if you picked up on my sarcasm Scar.
Pac would be crushed in probably 1-3 rounds. People are going way too crazy about Pac since he beat Diaz. Who is just taylor made for any puncher. They tend to forget JMM gave Pac a lesson and in the 2nd round had him stumbling, If a 130 lb JMM can hurt Pac im very very positive MArgarito would destroy him

On a serious note on the OP. It would be very hard to see a super feather go against Margarito because well Margarito cant even be hurt by his fellow WWs. So it should be someone very very fast and with great boxing skill. Right now or recently i dont think i see any natural 130lb guy doing it. Maybe Soto could hang in there for a while but eventually get worn down.
As of the past i dont think anyone could. too much of a step up in weight. Thats if you are talking about a guy that is fighting at 130 right now and then suddenly just jumping up for this fight. Because as we all know boxers outgrow certain weight classes as time goes by but if its just a straight jump to WW. It almost seems impossible unless like i said you are extremely fast and have great boxing skill. Stamina is gonna come in handy too since you wont be getting Margarito out of there in 12. Actually GREAT STAMINA would be needed.

If Edwin Valero's power is as good as advertised, I'd give him 2 rounds to knock Margarito out.

If he cant finish the job, I think starting round 3 or earlier, he's gonna be in deep trouble.

I never really watched too much of Casamayor. So i guess i never got to see him prime. I have seen (live) his last fight with Corrales, Santa Cruz, and Katsidis. I have also seen some youtube footage but that doesnt do a fighter justice.
However i see Margarito as a Katsidis only alot stronger and you can catch him with as many check hooks as you want. you are not gonna put him down. I think Margarito would lose alot of early rounds but eventually all the roughing up would catch up and a body shot would start the end for Casamayor.

    Are you serious?
Edwin "i only fight tomato cans" Valero?
I think Margarito is probably even faster than this guy. The way he winds up is pathetic. Not to mention you are talking about MArgarito getting Knocked out in 2 rounds. Is that even physically possible???
