If Pavlike cant handle Martinez's speed... then well do you think he's gonna handle Bute, Ward, and Dirrell at 168?
Now I can start a thread that will put 300 hits on it but it may make few of the Pav fans mad!!! I'm just saying what i've oserved over the last week!!!!
Silly thread, but I'll play along anyway. It's Cintron who needs to be praying. He better give his heart ta Jesus, 'cause his ass belongs ta Paul Williams. I'd be mortified if Paul screwed this fight up, and Cintron won't win unless Paul just flat out screws the pooch. I just don't think Kermit can handle PDub's work rate, tenacity, and stamina. I think he'll shut down emotionally and mentally like he often does when the oven gets hot. Considering who the major players are, and considering the coming onslaught of rising young talent currently coming up through the ranks, we have a chance to witness history in the making. The resurgence of the prestigious and legendary middleweight division. In order for that to happen, Paul Williams has to beat Kermit Cintron. I am convinced that Williams and Pavlik can both beat Martinez in a rematch. Paul needs to box better. He needs to use his height and reach better, and "Man up on dem jabs!" We had great fun with Peterson's, "Man up on dem jabs," statement, but George was right. PDub needs to keep snapping that jab all night. If he'll do those things, he can score a much more convincing win. Pavlik needs to look inside himself, and remember his true identity. His boxing skills are better than most give him credit for, but he is primarily a beast that runs over people, not a boxer who out points people. If Pavlik can find that animal that ran over Miranda, and got off the canvass to knock Taylor out, his chances in a Martinez rematch are very good. I was a little concerned that Martinez was going to vacate rather than stick at 160 for a rematch with Pavlik. He was talking non-stop about Margarito, but in the most recent inteview he said if Pavlik wants his rematch, he'll get it. Pavlik wants it. The only question is weight. If Paul beats Kermit, and Pavlik can make weight, we will probably see a series of fights that would restore the the status of boxings second most prestigious division. It would be the best thing to happen at 160 since Haglar/Hearns, and that is what we should all be praying for. And Sergio Martinez should be praying that Paul and Kelly don't make a few minor changes.
