true, but it would be idiotic to do so. Taking ANYTHING that the body has to then breakdown would only hamper performance. It pulls oxygen away from the brain, and puts byproducts into the bloodstream which then taxes the kidneys & liver. Creatine can be a useful supplement, if your diet is lacking, but it would do squat before an event. It has to be stored in the muscles first, and storing it would again steal resources from the body's metabolism that are needed for the fight.

The only exception is with endurance athletes, such as road cyclists & marathon runners, who could theoretically deplete glycogen reserves before the end of an event.

I don't know how it works. Maybe he has been taking throughout the day or more important before the fight. If it is within the rules then i guess it shouldn't be a big deal.

I will talk softly instead of shouting.

A lot of uninformed fools pop amino acids to fend off fatigue, (and BTW, what exactly is "fatigue" anyway?) - but in fact they don't help at all. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. All they do is help you muscle cells rebuild after you tear their walls. (As with power lifting.)

Gatoraid contains electrolytes, which you also don;t need if your diet is good, but can help if your diet sucks or if you are highly stressed.

P.S. Don't believe everything the Joe Weideresque companies claim. There's an incredible amount of bull**** going on in the supplement industry.

I know exactly what amino acids are but the fact they use them as a base for intra workout is just that, a FACT, studies change all the time which might have to do with either the funder of the study OR the fact that people react differently to supps, regardless its not unbelievable that an athlete would take something used as an intra workout now would it???
