He told us all he'd beat the reigning champion of 11 years, we all laughed at this seemingly clown-like character. Then he did it. Told us all he'd come back after 3 years of depression to the brink of death, severe drug addiction and alcoholism and obesity to the extent where he reached 28 stone....have only Seferi and Pianetta as "tune up" fights and go straight in with the heavyweight champion and beat him. 75% of people laughed. Then he did it (despite the judges deciding otherwise). He didn't complain about his luck at all after the bad decision, he got on with it. Showed humility, class, good humour and dignity, gained a whole new level of fanbase, won most people over because of who he really is. Then he changed trainer, started telling everyone he was going to win by stoppage this time, (despite probably most indicators in his own career record saying otherwise), 75% of people (probably including a lot of his fans) doubted him again. Look what he's just done. He stood in the ring afterwards looking totally unsurprised, whilst everyone around him was in shock, so called boxing experts, the lot. We're talking about a special person here, who's going to doubt him next time? The definition of the word champion
I think many doubted him up until this win, his instability and fights with Swartz and Wallin didn't help
I dont think many people doubt Tyson at his best. I think people doubt when he will be at his best and when he looks like crap for a few fights, that maybe hes starting to fade, which would be natural for a man his size. But if people knew he was going to be in excellent mental and physical condition and completely motivated, I dont think many would doubt him.
People have doubted him because of his history of depression and addiction, and because he doesn't look like a boxer.
Because not matter how great a fighter is no one is perfect. AJ got caught out on an off night. Wilder has been exposed here. Fury was a second away from a loss lats time out. It's heavy weight boxing and anything can happen. So it's not about doubting fury, everyone knows his is far superior to wilder but there will always be a chance of him being hurt himself especially against punchers like wilder and AJ. So yeh it's not doubt its reality. **** can happen if you switch off.
