I was just looking at prices for Tank vs Garcia and they are pretty pricey. $500+. Is that normal? I've never been to a boxing fight in person. For $500 no way it's worth it over watching it on TV.

They go by the Fury lineal index which bases the price of tickets on the fruitiness of the matchup at 1 dollar per inch. As you can imagine this figure is high for Garcia Tank.

    That's way too high

I could go to Turkey and have a return flight back home for that money

Vegas prices are always massive. Your better off going to a fight that doesn’t take place in Vegas. Traditionally rich people go to USA boxing matches however in the UK prices are a lot cheaper as it tends to be working class football fans who go to them.

I went to a couple of fight in Vegas
Wasn’t too big a deal since I was already their for work.

i think I paid about $100 to watch Berchelt get his snot box rocked - while they weren’t ringside seats , they where damn good seats
Hard to match the energy from a good fight crowd.

Tank vs garcia is a mega fight though
Not an everyday average Joe style fight.

Depends on the level of the fight, the venue, and like any event, which row/section you sit in. Local fights can be awesome and the tickets can be dirt cheap, anywhere from $25 nosebleeds to $80 ringside. I’ve been to a ton of local fights and had a blast for a relatively cheap night out.

Mega fights at big time venues are a different story when it comes to prices. I went to Mayweather-Marquez and splurged massively for a great seat and ended up spending $1,000 as a one time bucket list item.

Shop around and make sure you’re super pumped for the more expensive matches before buying tickets is the best advice I can give.

    Depends

I paid £300 for my seat at Fury-Whyte, it was basically the best section you can be in without being pitchside. It was absolutely worth it for me because seeing a Fury fight live, and being at Wembley for a massive fight, were bucket list items for me.

Comparatively, tickets for Joyce-Zhang were a lot cheaper (although I didn't end up going in the end)

I’d say the average hometown pro card cost about $50-70 in person. Title fights tend to be in the hundreds.

I remember going to Marquez vs Katsidis in Vegas. My wife and i were at a time share right by MGM Grand. I wanted to watch the fight on HBO even though the fight was right across the field from where i was staying, but it wasn't being shown, or the place didn't have hbo, one of the two. So i said to my wife, you want to go to the fight, its right next door, she says naw you go, I'll stay right here. So i walked across the field and got a $38 seat, but it was emediatly upgraded to almost ringside, i assume because they wanted it to look like there was more people for the hbo audience. So for $38 i got near ringside seat for a fight of the year canidate type of fight. Just remember that for food or drinks it cost a small fortune, i think it was $4 for a water maybe even more.

I've been to MSG a few times and it's about $80 for a mid range ticket.

You don't save much going for worse seats, better seats get very expensive fast. It's a nice price point though considering the price of entertainment in New York. I wish they would do more events there, but I guess if you're getting $300 for the back row in Vegas there isn't much incentive to come to New York.

That's not normal....$600 is probably the cheapest seats you can get too, anything near the ring will be in thousands ...it's awfully overpriced

    Right!

Also it depends on the quality of the fighters.

Back in the 80s when I purchased the general entrance tix for Gomez-Nelson it was 8 dollars which to a little 12 year old girl at that time living in the projects like me, was a huge amount back then lol specially when I had to buy 3 (one for me one for dad and one for grandpa)

The next few months, a middle of the field ticket for a fight between my ex gymmate Alberto Mercado and a boxer named Luis Perez who was not the Nicaraguan world champion of the 2000s, cost me a dollar. Again, my dad and grandpa also attended so the grand total cost was 3 dollars for three tickets.

Thats just an example but the general rule is still on: Like with everything else as well, the larger the fight, the larger you will pay to get in. I think in music you can expect a free ticket for a local band but pay high numbers for a stage seat for a Jennifer Lopez or Garth Brooks or Arianna Grande concert!
