Ofcourse I do. Consider the sheer volume of men who've competed at some point in the heavyweight division, I can't see how it's crazy to favour haye against more than half of them.

    :think

I can roll with this. The only thing that gives me pause and wish Leonard had done more often in New Orleans was let his hands go and deal out an equal amount physical punishment that matched the complete mind **** he put Duran through. His physical condition and appearance in that fight was no doubt absurd. Almost the definitive welterweight.

Yer that's what I was thinking. The way he put it made me think twice about Holyfield, but if were talking strictly cruisers then he's the man IMO.

If your inculding 4 round journey men the of course, but if your talking champions and contenders, then I doubt he even makes it to contender level in most eras,

    Obvious Favourites:
Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Jack Johnson, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Mike Tyson, Ezzard Charles, Evander Holyfield, Jersey Joe Walcott, Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe,

Max Schmeling, Ron Lyle, Jerry Quarry, Ken Norton, Ernie Terrell, Oscar Bonavena, Jimmy Young, Eddie Machen, Michael Spinks, Razor Ruddock, Michael Moorer, Mike Weaver, Tim Witherspoon, Tony Tucker, Michael Dokes, Ray Mercer, Earnie Shavers, Pinklon Thomas, Gerry Cooney, David Tua, Ike Ibeabuchi

would'nt pick Haye to beat any of these for a starts, first category I would'nt give him a chance extremely out of his depth, and the second are former holders and contenders that I believe would mostly knockout or clearly outpoint Haye,

why does that even matter? He made a statement and you said something completely different to what he said. Sure haye wouldn't beat many on that list but if he didn't say it, why bring it up

He said Haye matches up to most heavyweights in history, I trying to see if he mean top level heavys or journeymen.

He's not made it clear which of the two,

I made it clear that I think he matches up well against most heavyweights.

I didn't limit it to champions as you have.

You didn't so much respond to my post as make your own argument up.

For the record though, I think he'd have easily matched jeffries success given the same schedule.

I did'nt limit it to champions most ofthem are contenders that never won a title,

saying that he matches up to most heavyweights is not clear unless you talking what level, world class contenders or are you including journey men

I'm not limiting it to levels. I named a division. It can't really get much clearer.

The heavyweight division has had shed loads of men fight in it. I'd favour haye over most of them.

I don't understand why this is causing you such difficulty.

David Haye doesn't merit this type of lengthy discussion. Particularly not in a theoretical thread pertaining to fighters unbeatable in their prime.

at 190 is the closest, because that division has been a wasteland. Although fighters who were that weight could beat him (Marciano, Dempsey etc), I don't think anyone who has ever fought in the actual cruiserweight division could.

at minimumweight would also come close. I can't see anyone who ever fought in those divisions coming close to beating those guys.
