what pro gym can I take my young lad to??

    Iwould like to take my young lad to a boxing gym in uk somewhere, maybe where he can see a couple of good pros training! He would love that, and yes so would I! He has had 12 amateur bouts now and has won 8. He is just 16, nearly 6ft and is 62kg, he would love this experience and workout, and maybe get the chance for a light move with s8meone.do you know anyone who would accomodate us.I beleive he is one for the future, and deserves a little treat for all his hard work!!:cool: we live in scotland!!

    I hear Billy Nelson's gym offers lots of little treats... mars bars, kit kats, french fancies, etc.

    Billy Nelson posts on this forum which would make more sense as your up in Scotland, maybe send him a private message see if he could sort something out for you.

    Would be good experience for your lad though, even just watching the pro's train.

    Leave him be with his amature gym and if hes good enough no doubt a pro trainer would approach you , At 12 fights id say hes miles away from goig near a pro gym, i know lads with near on 100 fights and not even thought about visiting pro gyms , no need for false hope at his age , if hes good enough hell get noticed , let him try win districts and scottish titles

    Haha, ive been involved in boxing a good few years now, having been scottish amateur champion 3 times in my boxing days, so , no im not looking to turnmy lad pro (ha ha), just for the experience mate!! I take it your an armchair fan, but hey thanks for the advice (ha ha)

    Taking a young lad over to a pro gym would only do him the world of good.

    He'll pick things up watching the pro's and also it's giving him that mentality of "I want to achieve this" which could see him train that bit harder.

    Any ideas furey??:good I know you said nelsons, but looking to go to the gallaghers, ingles or booths. Aim7ng high, I know, but hey!! Want to give him a day to remember!!

    Not a fan of Billy?

    What about contacting Danny Vaughan as he is based up here (by that I mean Glasgow) although having said that he is right now based in Marbella. Pretty sure he trains his fighters out of Morrison's gym.

    I thought danny was fultime based in MGM now Jon ? big simbos away out there for 5 weeks , coodnt imagine big alex would really want any FW signed fighters like derry in his gym with the beef he has

    No, billy nelsons gym would be really good for my lad, infact ive just had a message inviting us down, which is really good of him!! I just wanted to go a little further afield, but looking to pick up some coaching advice and skills and drills for my young lad, as a coach neverstops learning!! I cant message you back billy as ivenot had enough posts!!

    Ingles gym is worth a visit, lots of pros there plus a different concept to most. Sure Brendan would look after you.

    You could be right Stevie I know he signed with them but wasn't sure how that sat if it was in blocks or he would be back here or not.

    Good shout about the FW fighters never even thought of that. :good
