i agree with the beginning of this post as much as i am a Floyd fan i do agree if Pac needs to show proof...he needs to as well as to how much he gets.

I also think if this is the path they need to go to get the right percentages then so be it.

If pac is being low-balled then being payed from Floyds pocket i guess 40mil or whatever is decided would go str8 to Pac and not Arum and others....either way Pac still would have to pay his debts.

this whole money thing is such a sticky situation if they start digging this deep.

45-45-10 to the winner is probally the best deal period....Floyd really gotta cut some slack here with this purse war.

I'm not sure how reliable Forbes is in their reporting, but they are a fairly popular news source and I would think that there is some kind of vetting going on over there.

With that in mind, this is the link to their 2010 highest earning athletes
    http://www.forbes.com/2010/07/20/mo...sportsmoney-fifty-fifty-athletes_slide_9.html

    and here is 2011:
    http://www.forbes.com/2011/05/31/highest-paid-athletes_slide_26.html

The Cliff Notes for those who don't want to go through clicking links and what not is that they say Pac earned 32 million in 2010 and 25 in 2011

    25 + 32 = 57

Take that for what it's worth. I will say that Forbes is probably a more reliable source then jag on the internet.

It's also worth noting that in 2010 Forbes says that Mayweather earned 65 million.

As to why he would turn down 40 million when according to some he's never seen PPV revenue before (which btw, do you have a credible source for this claim)? Well, each negotiation is different and since they need one another to make the most money it makes sense that 50/50 would be the only acceptable terms.

The only people losing here are the fans. We yell at one another, everyone calling everyone else a ****** this and cocksucker that, and they still don't fight. So, you know...seems pretty silly.

Pac probably makes a lot in paper. But not like it is a secret that Arum robs him blind while Koncz helps him.

So even if Pac by contract sees $40 mill a fight. Pretty sure Arum will make sure that is really only $16-24 million in reality.

They don't show purses because it's the fighter's business and if he's still with Arum that means he's happy.

    You are all dumbasses.

Pac's arrangement with Arum is for Taxation purposes.

Arum pays Pac a purse money and he also pays Pac's company, the MP promotions. In a way, since it is a company, it is entitledto many tax exemptions like expenses incurred in promoting a fight, fees, etc.

So what is reflected as his purse money is not what he actually receives as total. A purse money is considered as gross income and is taxed a stratospheric rate and when you earn millions, that is the toptax rate.

Are you really an attorney? You seem too dumb to be one.

Gayweather gets all his money as purse money, which is a dumb idea actually. That way, IRS will get almost half of his purse and probably the reason why Gayweather always owes the IRS money, or GBP (when he pays Gayweather's IRS dues).

Personal earning or income is separated from his company's earning.

Any tax accountant would know that in order to cut your tax, you use companies. In a way,you can claim salaries, expenses, etxc against gross income, which cannot be done in personal income. Infact, if he bought a car, and declare it as a promotional tool, he can claim it as deduction.

What is being declared in those reports were purses, which is considered as personal income.

So, Gayweather, who earned 30million would actually have to pay a tax rate of that amount,or close to half of it. Whereas, a company's net earn or income is taxed way less than that.

The arrangement with Pac and TR is probably 60 per cent purse and 40 per cent to MP promotions.
