Just simple question.obviously the big boys have really good claim, that they were miles ahead of current era.

But what about from LHW to say FW.

Just some simple evidence why say modern WW is better than in 80's or vice versa.or why 80's MW was better than now.

I think more or less it's biased opinion.depends what era you liked the most.but i welcome PROOF or FACTS gladly, why modern era is better or why 70's etc were better

boxing then was more popular, there were more fighters, talent level needed then to succeed would be higher.

    deontay wilder has a belt.

Legendary eras are remembered for legendary fights between legendary fighters.

    Proof is everywhere.

For example you got Hearns beating Hill in 1991.Hill beating then Champ Tiozzo in 2000. Tiozzo would be the best cruiserweight today.

    Which is a fact.

    Less money in the sport=
    Less cherry picking=
    More competition=
    Better fights+more fights=
    More legendary fights=
    Legendary fighters.

nothing more than nostalgia, different training methods, different "supplements", different everything, just plain impossible to compare Ali to Wlad, Golovkin to Hagler or Mayweather to Robinson

I don't even buy that the big boys were better.

Easier names to pronounce and from more familiar locations, perhaps.

Actually we have a ton of proof. It's called youtube.

Try watching a few fights and compare.

Yeah watch Louis-Marciano and then imagine either of them in the ring with Wlad, they'd both be massacred.

Another poster who's never heard of youtube. Just watch fights from both eras and decide for yourself which is better.

Watch Hager - Hearns back then verses Martinez - Cotto now

Watch SRL - Hearns then verses Mayweather - Oscar now

Watch Duran -SRL then verses Pac - Mayweather now

Ya I suppose it's an impossible task of you don't watch any of these fights.

    More registered fighters
    Fighters with better stamina
    Fighters with better jabs
    Fighters with better footwork
    Fighters with better offense
    Fighters using head movement
    Fighters using good feints
Fighters not making excuse after excuse to avoid fights
    Clearly much better fighters
