It's been at least 3 Major World Titles since the 80s only Duran out of the big 4 won a Title in the 70s so I'd say you can compare a lot of there title fights guys
    From the 80s onward.

It's 4 Champs in every division everyone knows that who is the real Belt Holder that intriem/regular Titlist are just contenders and not real Champs. Regardless of the nostalgia the best of the best in each division from any era would be competitive vs his other.

The proof you say? Well...I happen to have a pair of rose-tinted glasses sitting right next to me that state that the 80's were better than what we have today.

80's was an amazing era. That was the era I grew up watching (mostly) and it was a privilege.
There are some very good fighters around now don't get me wrong, but back then there were more of them. The overall standard was higher than today.

Half the guys Louis fought wouldn't even be considered cruiserweights in today's era.

Some of the mythical fights would be awesome. Like Wlad against Ali or Holmes. Napoles against Floyd or Spinks Kovalev. But some would be plain massacres. Imagine Duran or Arguello against Linares it wouldn't last 2 rounds. Or Hearns Alvarez he would take his head off. Pryor would send Danny into oblivion. Are those speculations?? Yes but any sensible poster would give the advantage to the ol school guys in those match ups imao.

No test for PEDs in 70s and 80s.

We actually have PROOFS it was a WORSE era:

1- the fighters were smaller, shorter and lighter;it's all documented; to be 6'3'' back then was enough to be classfied "a giant", today you're laughed at if you're that size in the heavyweights. Additionally, those small 6'2-3 heavyweights used to be the top sized, and to fight MUCH smaller opponents, people around 5'8-10" and weighting the equivalent of today's light heavyweights, but with less muscle masses than your average LHW of today and worse technique and stamina.

2- the fighters were less fit: they were often fat, but not just buff, rather the skinny-fat version, meaning no muscles masses and no definition.

There are footages of fighters like Joe Frazier being unable to lift weights that are today lifted by any average gym goer; and he lost that contest against other non-lifters, like skinny pole jumpers and the likes:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUTxgTEdZTA

3- All the video footages clearly shows terrible amateurish techniques and mistakes to those that knows how to fight; paradoxally, those mistakes and wrong form are presented as "the proof" of the past eras greatness: for example, Ali had his hands almost always, and was in general very opened to being hit (we're not talking about RJJ or Martinez's "hands to the hips" style, we're talking straight "i forget to keep my guard up and the opponent has no difficulties whatsoever in hitting me")
Other mistakes are Ali, for example, always slapping his punches and never putting his feets behind them. As a result, in spite of wearing much smaller gloves, his ko percentage was bad.

There are TONS of huge basic mistakes that you don't even see anymore in top 50 fights.

You know so much about boxing yet you incorrectly predicted Wlad to lose his last ten fights.

You need to create a thread saying Fury will beat Wlad so I can bump it when you're wrong again.

Primo Carnera, Buddy Baer and Abe Simon were all embarrassing bums, that's just what they were.

Don't even try to claim Primo Carnera would have a chance today, if somene reading doesn't know Primo Carnera, then please, do a quick youtube search, any one of his fights will do, you'll see the most useless, goofy, uncoordinated, slow and glass chinned zombie that ever entered a ring.

Even his trainers were telling how Primo used to be put on his ass regularly in sparring sessions against mediocre fighters much smaller than him. Primo Carnera is a joke, he wouldn't last a single round between cruiserweights today.

In this era , instead of having useless big men , you had useless small men.
Louis was the smaller man when he beat some of those poor larger men.

The Wachs and Pianeta's were on the exact same level as Primo - minus the strength and power of Primo.
