If Calzaghe vacates, as the top 2 ranked contenders in the WBC rankings, the winner will get the vacated belt.
Be carefull Decebal! Froch just might be stupid enough to want to fight Kessler... A Froch avatar is still better than an Ottke avatar though.
So would I! :happy I'm actually calling for it, regardless of what others say about it. And if Inkin vs Froch is only a number one contendor match, I could see the "corrupt" WBC possibly allowing JT-Kessler being a WBC interim title fight (provided that the Inkin-Froch winner gets Calzaghe first IF [unlikely] he chooses to return to 168 ). Meaning, in all likelihood, we would see the winner of JT-Kessler vs winner of Inkin-Froch for the vacant WBC super middleweight title... Which is why I'm ALSO calling for Mundine vs Bute (a WBA/IBF unification fight). Puts the division in a "nice and neat" order...
Nah...winner would have at least 9 months before having to fight a mandatory. Can fight 2 voluntaries easily. But Froch said he'd beat Kessler and although doesn't see him as that big a challenge, wouldn't mind fighting him at all! Who knows...maybe he'll really do it!
Kessler stops him, agreed. But I'd pick him over Inkin, Froch, and Miranda right now (Froch and Inkin would be tougher fights and dangerous ones). Allan Green? You can't be serious. He struggled with Emmett Linton, lost badly to Edison Miranda, and looked very unimpressive against a past-it Rubin Williams. Bute is a level above him and it would show.
Froch is not stupid! He is just hyping himself by associating himself with these NAMES...good business... BUT, if he is brave/mad enough to face Kessler voluntarily, I will become a fan for sure!:deal
Let us hope so. Kessler would own Froch so badly he would own his great grandchildren and there children etc etc. :yep
No...its an eliminator to become Calzaghe's mandatory. Calzaghe won't defend though. He'll drop the belt (vacate). So the mandatory becomes vacant title holder (WBC Champ)
Bute v. Froch for the IBF/WBC unified title and then winner against Kessler to become the man at 168...
That's not the case. That's only the case SOMETIMES when the "mandatory" is the INTERIM title holder (the "interim" just gets dropped) As a WBC #1 contendor, if Calzaghe vacates, they will HAVE TO fight the next available contendor for the VACANT wbc title. Which means Kessler at #3, or JT at #4... or probably the winner of a fight between the two (and there HAS been talks)
