Well, what really happened was, Herrera went out there and punched him in his face a lot.

 

Herrera beat 'dat azz

 

combo of factors, underestimated herrera - looked for knockout, didnt prepare for herreras style. didnt jab or tuck his chin or move his head. movement was sometimes ineffective. no inside game at all.

like i said, looked for 1 punch ko to please fans and because he underestimated mauricio.

was overconfident because the media was tellin him how he beat lucas "easy" which it wasnt.

discredited herreras close fight with ruslan because it wasnt for world title and they dont rate ruslan, but ruslan is an absolute beast.

 

So in short... Herrera beat 'dat azz

Styles makes fights, and I think a combination of underestimating Herrera's work and coming off back to back grueling fights took their toll on Danny.

If he is to face someone like Ruslan, people would yet again write him off like they did vs Matthysse, and Danny could once again prove the doubters wrong.
