What Ricky Hatton Biggest Mistake?

Maybe not his biggest mistake but a mistake never the less was teaming up with Mayweather Snr, I never quite figured out the thinking behind it?

 

Turning into an arrogant arsehole after the Castillo fight.

 

He didn't make many mistakes in my opinion.

If he'd of lived like a monk inbetween fights', alway's stayed in shape, never took drugs, etc etc he'd of still took a beating from Floyd and Manny. They're the two best fighter's of our generation so there's no shame in that.

The only thing you can even call a mistake, as somebody said above is he should of retired after the Mayweather fight.

 

Come on lads, who else would take 20,000 plus to Vegas?

Guy was very popular and for 6 rounds he held his own against Mayweather until Cortez decided to steal the show. Hatton never beats Pac - agreed.

But hatton was ferocious in his younger days. 140 1999 - 2005 was a beast. Great punch resistant, devasting body shots and 140 May Hatton around 2004 would be a great fight

I honestly believe he thought that he'd learn something that would help him beat FMJ in a re-match.

As if FMS was ever going to pass on any secrets.

 

I think hiring Floyd snr was a ploy from Ricky to try and force Floyd jnrs hand into making the rematch.

 

balloning was definitly the main problem, he gave his opponent a head start because he took time to get his weight down. but the party lifestyle he portrayed was the reason he got the publics backing, mainly from football fans, and if it wasnt for this i doubt he would have taken so many to vegas.

 

Yeah mate, he was one of the boys and that's why everyone warmed to him IMO.

 

I suppose that must have been the thinking behind it, seems daft though, Ricky was always a in your face pressure fighter, he was never going to learn how to box off the backfoot and counter punch at that stage of his career, the Manny fight proved that.

 

The **** Hatton gets is a disgrace.

 

Holding onto that WBU belt for so long. He only won two domestic title fights, one British and other central area!

He also had that inter-continental **** before WBU, but ****** is prob more to blame.
