Oh so when it suits you Parker has a chance! But when it doesn’t it’s Hearn ripping off the fans haha!
And it doesn’t matter how this fight is billed. Even if AJ was 1/100 this a PPV. This is the heavyweight division, the cream of boxing. The number one heavyweight in the world is putting his his 2(3) titles on the line fighting to unify the division against the number 7 who’s putting his on the line. Both unbeaten. It’s a foregone conclusion for me but still an amazing spectacle.
In Johnny Nelson's recent article on Sky Sports, he says the winner will etch himself in history in becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion. So many things wrong with that statement.
Of course it's a ppv. I think AJ wins and dominates but i fancy it to go the distance unless the ref produces a Takam type stoppage to keep AJs 100% stoppage record intact.
Parker’s got good fast hands for a heavyweight, but I think his flaws are that he has lapses of concentration, especially after a bit of good work. His footwork moving in is pretty decent but he’ll let his hands go but then almost pause and admire his own work instead of stepping out of range to avoid the counter. Ruiz caught him at will, and Takam had a lot of joy early on with the left hook. He’s not been made to pay for it yet, but if he stays in the pocket with Joshua, he will get put on his backside. Should be an exciting fight, credit to both of them for taking it.
Hearn is ripping off the mug public with PPVs such as this and Parker has a very slight chance here. His chance is to dance away Skippy Burns style for 6 rounds then pound Doshua with all he has got - the problem is I don't think he has much but would love to be proved wrong. Roll on the Wilder fight as at least there is a realistic chance of 2 outcomes.
So you’re saying that a world heavyweight title unification fight with 4 belts on the line featuring the current biggest star in world boxing shouldn’t be a PPV?
I don’t see anything special in Parker apart from maybe being slightly quicker than AJ. But he has some major flaws and is very very hitable, I can see him getting hurt in 2-3 rounds and the finished in 5th/6th Wilder will be a much bigger test
I hope not. I hope it’s brutal. The embarrassing videos and steroid accusations. He deserves to feel the full force.
