What round will AJ knock Cornish out in?

It's an embarrassing mismatch on paper and I think it will prove to be so on the evening.

Although Cornish's 21-0 padded record looks good to casuals, a closer inspection shows that of his 21 wins just FIVE have winning records.

And only TWO of those have been against opponents who had double figures of total fights.

And of those two wins, one was a points decision vs Larry Olubawimo ... Who was on a 13 fight losing streak!

With the greatest of respect to Cornish, if he were fighting Tom Dallas on Saturday evening rather than Anthony Joshua he would still be the underdog IMO.

 

Agreed even though AJs opponents have been fairly weak I think about half of them would beat Gary Cornish.

Terrible mismatch.

 

id like you to list joshuas opponents that you think would beat cornish? although i think joshua will blow cornish away i dont see anyone on joshuas record that beats him and that includes kevin johnson who was basically retired before the fight with him.

 

I guess that is fair too, Joshua's best opponents on an incredibly thin CV are Jason Gavern and Kevin Johnson. Gavern wouldn't beat Cornish and if you exclude Prizefighter, Johnson has won one full fight since June 2011!

Terrible though the mismatch is, incredibly Cornish is Joshua's 'biggest test' to date :?

 

No Cornish is terrible Johnson, Airich, Gavern, Sprott, Bahktov and even Skelton would beat him. Has Cornish even fought anyone in the top 100 ?

 

I watched a clip of Cornish spar wach.

I dunno I think Cornish may have a little success and land at least something during the fight. I hear he's trained hard and should keep it fairly interesting for 3 or 4 rounds before getting stopped

 

This fight will be over either in 1 round or 2 rounds.

I would predict that it ends in Round 2, only because I think Joshua tries to feel him out a bit in the first minute and starts a bit cautiously.

If AJ wanted to, he could knock out Cornish cold inside the first 2 minutes. But I think he paces it a bit

 

Cornish is a very low level fighter.
He is a very weak opponent.

The fight has been made because he has padded his record with plodders, and is unbeaten.

 

Stub hub have done more money on this fight than the mayweather fight

 

This fight does not matter.......................AJ will not learn anything from it, it's time he steps up and fights a legit fighter.....................

 

I'd say Johnson & Bakhtov are Joshua's best wins, Bakhtov would have a good chance of beating Cornish he almost upset another protected giant prospect in Arnold gjergjaj who has a much better resume than Cornish, dropping him & taking him a hard 12 rounds.

 

Bakhtov beats him imo.

 

I reckon Cornish gets knocked down in the 1st and stopped in the 2nd, like it really matters. Dillian Whyte will be his first test and it can't come a moment too soon as this current level of opponent ain't helping anybody....
