I'm thinking somewhere between 4-6, but it could be earlier if Sam puts his head down and just rushes in with abandon.

It seems Vitali is through training camp without injury. There are only two more pitfalls, possibly, for him:

    1. Not getting injured in the fight itself (as he was against Byrd, Lewis)
    2. Not being too old in the ring (seems unlikely based on training camp reports)

Fighters can get injured, it does happen. Vitali has been injured in around 5% of his fights (2 of 37). This possibility increases, of course, as you get older.

The hardest part of this fight is over for Vitali. For a preview of what is likely to happen to Peter, watch the video below:

    [yt]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NmgwRN-OCIE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NmgwRN-OCIE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt]

What round do you think Peter's getting KO'd in?

I think that this is what Peter is going to end up looking like, as Vitali cracks him down to size as VK did Danny Williams. I'm not sure if Peter will take as much punishment as Williams did, however. We'll see. Here's the video:

    [yt]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9s1PIHQmMWo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9s1PIHQmMWo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt]

You'll notice Williams is built a lot like Peter, only larger.

Or, Vitali's KO of Peter could look like the one he delivered to Herbie Hide:

(this video is not able to be embedded)

    *

Or, perhaps, it will look like the KO of Kirk Johnson by Klitschko, another man who is around the same size as Sam Peter, slightly taller:

    [yt]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XZxE4iBwR0A&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XZxE4iBwR0A&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt]

However the fight goes down, the percentages say that if Vitali makes it through the fight uninjured, Sam Peter will be KO'd. That's the pick from this corner as well.

Thanks, dog. I just saw your thread. Sorry about the double post!

I agree with you. I think Peter will come right into Vitali's wheelhouse and Vitali is going to blast him out relatively quickly.

What we can all say is Peter will no doubt be facing the worst version of Vitali just like Vitali faced the worst version of Lennox. A Peter loss here would be disgraceful. :smoke

That being said, Vitali will stop Peter between 4 and 6 rounds.

Agreed on all fronts, Rico. If Vitali wins the fight definitively, the Peter hype is permanently over. If you can't beat a faded, 37-year-old guy who's been out of the ring for 4 years, you're not only not a savior, you're a dud. And, possibly one who just got KO'd.

Huge pressure on Sammy. This is his career right here.

And for those who say Peter has an iron chin (which both Wlad and McCline showed is a false perception), I direct you to the BoxRec entry for Kirk Johnson:

    http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=7777&cat=boxer

You'll see Johnson has been stopped just once in his career.

By Vitali Klitschko, as seen in the brutal video above.

Vitali can crack virtually anyone's chin (save Timo Hoffmann's); that's why his KO percentage is an astonishing 92%. And that 92% takes into account the two fights VK could not complete due to a torn rotator cuff and a severe cut.

If Vitali doesn't get injured, Peter's likely in for some huge pain.

I think if Lewis had been in shape, the fight with Vitali would have been more one sided in his favor. 37 year old Lewis took that fight on two weeks notice and was noticeably out of shape. I was pulling for Vitali in that fight, but after following Lennox's career I could clearly see that he wasn't at his best.

On topic -- in this case, Peter is going to be facing a 37 year old Vitali that has been inactive for over three years. The difference is that this version of Vitali (if he shows up healthy) still stops him. I can't believe how many people still ride Peter's sack. The exposure is coming and it will be a train wreck.

VK by KO inside 6. :bbb

Williams actually might be a better boxer than Peter.

I see Peter going in 7-9
