Torn between early and late. I'll go with early. I remember watching Johnson stop Leapai in the 5th round I believe. I know every fight is its own, but I would be hard pressed to believe that Wladimir takes longer... Leapai is on par with his other lousy recent title defenses against Pianeta, Wach, Mormeck, etc.

Johnson stopped him in the 9th.

Leapai was winning the fight, but tried too hard for the KO and gassed. Then, the craven Kevin Johnson came alive and knocked him out.

    I just boxrec'd... you're right.

But Johnson was up 77-75 on all three scorecards and that is how I remember it too. Maybe Leapai was winning, as you say, through a few rounds but it couldn't be more. Johnson was bossing him all over for the couple rounds before the actual stoppage.

Watch his fights with Johnson and Boystov to get both the good and the bad. (I never thought too much of Boystov even years ago, soooooo...)

He's a short dude (relative to Wlad and other top HW's), slow hands, but huge freakin' biceps and he does seem to have some power... so at least the whole, "oye, I'ma get inside and do a job on him!" boasting before the fight can get Aussies excited.

Leapai wasnt winning fight, not even close.

Even the Australian judges had Johnson up on all cards

Damn, who is Wlad fighting, lmao? You can't get any worse as a heavyweight champion. We need Vitali back.

Wlad has the skills to KO Leapai in 5 rounds.

    But not the heart.

    Wlad TKO 10

Vlad will be cautious, set Leapai up and knock him out, but it all depends on which round Vlad sets down on his punches. Could be an early knockout, such as the second round, or could be mid-rounds, it all depends on how Leapai attacks.

I think Wlad will carry the fight to at least the second half.

He'll end the fight when RTL says he can, probably no earlier than rd 5.
