3-4 rounds tops. It's a mismatch. Will be similar to Sillakh and Mohammedi fights.

Kovalev is too stupid and slow to hit a Ward of today. Ward was 21 then.

Paul Smith caught ward with a big flush right.. If that punch comes from Kovalev, then Ward goes to sleep

The gulf in skills and ability will be so apparent in this fight.

Kov is great for the sport as he lures in many casuals with his powerÂ….that being said his only chance at beating Ward is his power skill wise its a neanderthal vs a renaissance man. Maybe I'm being a bit drastic however there is a considerable gap between the two boxers. Of course Kovalev can close that gap with a well timed counter no doubt.

5-6 or 7-8. Kova needs some time to "massage" Ward's body, arms and shoulders before landing that big shot.

Thats if Ward allows Kovalev the kind of leverage he needs to apply the strategy your implying. Kovalev is somewhat rangy and lanky though he can't operate nearly as effectively in close range. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get bullied on the inside. If Kovalev can somehow force Ward to remain outside the pocket for at least half the round he can be successful, I just don't see him making the proper adjustments. Versus Hopkins Kovalev was able to dictate the pace because quite frankly Hopkins at his age can't leverage as much during in fight negotiations. Pascal who has half the talent and conditioning as Ward was able to find success by simply using small lateral movements and an unorthodox array of punches in inconsistent spurts imagine what Ward can execute.
