Yeah, yeah...he needs to step it up...30 years old...last chance next year...SO:

Whom should he go for? What route to the top for Froch? What fights do you see him making in 2008 in order to become World Champion?

Well he beat Reid, so how about Tocker Pudwell and Peter Manfredo? Joe must surely then have no choice but to face him.

...And what a comeback it would be!:yep

Seriously though, if Froch stepped in the ring against Kessler next year, I would become a fan, win or lose (lose). I would respect Froch more for that than for any opponent outside the Top 5 that he would ever beat.

His route should be the quickest one, he aint got time on his side, 2008 will be his defining year, one way or the other.

Actually, Peter Manfredo wouldn't be entirely out of the question. It would boost his profile in the USA, a lot of people there think Manfredo is a good fighter.
If Froch faced Kessler he would get my respect, but he would also get a fearsome beating.

But would Manfredo lead to a title fight? Not unless Manfredo beats Lacy...and that's not going to happen, I don't think.

Fair point. How about Lacy then? Now that would be a decent sort of crossroads type of thing.

Beating Lacy would be good, of course! But would in and of itself lead to a title fight? Kessler, Inkin, Braehmer and Froch and a few others besides will all be chasing for 3 titles...one of which is Mundine's...Froch HAS to have a shot at a title fight in Spring 2008 or Summer 2008 at the latest...I think his very next fight will be a title shot or an eliminator for a title shot...I wonder whether Lacy will be on the cards...I am not sure how highly he will be rated if he beats Manfredo...because Manfredo is only ranked with the WBC - where Lacy isn't ranked...

Froch should KTFO Bute first. Then Kessler.
He needs to forget Cazaghe. Calaghe will never have big enough balls to face The Cobra.
