How did that ruin his carrer? Give the fact he fought them in 96 and 2002 respectivly? :nut Anyway this is what ruined it: 1. Death of Jimmy Jacobs - unexpected to him beacuse he had no idea of Jacob's leukemia. 2. Marrying a money hungry ***** with a money hungry mother of the ***** - also a *****, instead of marrying a good girl who'd actually care about him. 3. Don King stepping in with his claws and doing everything in his power to take control. 4. Getting rid of all the people who cared about him and made him great notably Kevin Rooney. The biggest fault goes to Don King. But in reallity it all started way sooner. He was just an emotionaly insecure young man who had a childhood I would not want any child to have, then spent his young years training to be a champion instead of going to school, hang out with friends and lead a normal life. And after all that he's suddenly world famous and a milionare at a young age of 20 with no experience whatsoever. Then lossing the only person he ever truly loved and his father figure in Cus. But if Don King never came along, history would be way different. Oh, and the final blow to his carrer ending was Desire Washington. Yes, I wasent in the room like nobody else so I dont know 100% what happened. But it was her word againts his. There were no evidence. And he was a multi milionare. She went to his room, to his bed in two in the morning. And she accused him to get to the money. :good
I think Mike Tyson said it best in an interview in "Dark Trade": he forgot what being a champion was about and forgot his hunger to be a great boxer. Tyson ruined his own career.
Once cus died Tyson was fighting for the wrong reasons and he had nobody to turn to that he truly respected and feared He's had taken bullets for cus, I think losing cus and marrying that hoe was the true dagger through his careers heart
Mike Tyson is what ruined and ended his career. He fired Rooney, who produced great results and was the perfect coach for him. However, Rooney isn't a yes man so Mike fired him. He underestimated Buster Douglas and paid for it and also got himself in legal trouble. Mike in his comeback after Prison started relying too much on his power and neglected his timing and technique that made him the undisputed champ. Holyfield made easy work of Tyson in the first fight. He then got Tommy Brooks, who is another no nonsense coach that produced good results when Mike would listen. Mike low balled him and Brooks walked. Mike also started coming in too heavy. He was over 230 in the Lennox Lewis fight, which is too heavy for Mike to be effective. Mike was a one of a kind athlete and accomplished more in boxing by age 20 than most do in a lifetime, but he caused his own downfall.
You don't think Cus would have kept Mike in line? Lack of discipline and the loss of Cus go hand and hand IMHO.
