What score did you have Jamie McDonnell v Tomoki Kameda II?

McDonnell won it. GOod competitive bout but it was McDonnells

 

I didn't score it round by round but I thought McDonnell won the fight. I was surprised the announcers thought Kameda was clearly ahead and controlling the whole fight.

 

I had it 114-113 for McDonnell with the knockdown providing the margin of victory. Thought the fight was a tale of two halves, the first half Kameda controlled more with his sharp counters as McDonnell was mostly unsuccessfully trying to box him at range, the second half McDonnell changed up to applying more close range pressure, had more success, and Kameda faded a bit. I will say though if you're a fan of clean work above all else, that Kameda has a solid case for victory because he landed the cleaner, flashier shots all night for the most part while McDonnell's stuff was less clean but more solid and consistent in the 2nd half.

 

yeah. It was on PBC over here in the states. The first thing the interviewer asked McDonnell was if he thought he earned the victory and was pretty much implying that Kameda was robbed, which was a disrespectful little **** move by him.

 

McDonnell won both fights versus Tomoki, razor close but very clear, 114-113.

 

115-112 McDonnell. No way he should've failed to retain, with the knockdown, even giving Tomoki close rounds.

 

Yes. They acted like the scores were a raw deal.

 

Virgil Hunter in particular shilled hard for Kameda.

 

Jamie actually trains at the gym I used to go to a few months back.

He's dedicated, but terribly underpaid.

 

I will say folks who gave McDonnell 9 or so rounds are foolish equal to the level of the PBC crew for their opinions. Bunch of folks (yes, the usual suspects) jock riding McDonnell hard on the RBR as if it weren't competitive. They were the same ones who rode his jock before the fight even started. Coincidence?

Both fights were great fights and both fighters seem to be very good. Props to McDonnell for showing solid class and using his dimensions properly in the ring.

 

On another forum, the majority thought Kameda won. Less trolls. I have yet to see the fight, though. I missed it.
